swamprat
They are already calling for evacuations. Let’s see of they heed the warnings this time. I talked to young lady at the Lafayette Hotel, yesterday. She and her fellow workers plan on riding it out at the hotel. After the 8 AM update, it looks like New Orleans may get the west side of the storm. Usually the east side is the bad side. However, Nate is so compact, it may be just as bad on both sides. Getslow
In Jacksonville for a wedding today. Headed to Amelia Island for a few days tomorrow. Looking like the forecasts have it swinging away from us. Hope they hold. Good luck out there, everybody.
lawildcat
A hurricane is getting ready to hit New Orleans and the pumping stations are still not fully repaired from Katrina. How can that be?!

woodsrider
So far has been less eventful than expected here. I think it ended up further west than expected. The surf was impressive and the wind more constant and stronger then I've ever experienced but not as crazy as expected.
