After watching this thrashing that Bama is giving Vandy (up 59-0 with entire 4Q to go), go me to thinking/wondering, should their be a running clock once a certain point margin is up like their is in high school at 35?

 

I don't think anyone other than the winning team, will stay the rest of the game once a team is getting blown out.

I might be okay with it in FBS vs. FCS games if necessary but I'm leaning "no" on all fronts.

Not as low as 35 points, too many crazy things happen in college football. I'd lean no, but if it were implemented it would need to be 45 to 50 points before it runs.

Watching that game had me thinking the same thing. I think maybe at 42+ but only in the second half and maybe even 4th quarter only.

Exactly. But even more because of TV money. A running clock would cut out advertising time/money and mess with TV schedules.

If you had a running clock during those interminable video reviews, you would barely have any action at all. Why in the name of all that is holy, do those reviews have to take so long?

Changing the clock rules in general would be a better fix for college football. Games should not take 4 hours.
