I have always wondered in areas that have raised their min wage to $15 an hour, do they increase the wages of those who were making $15/$20/$30 an hour to maybe $25/$30/$40 an hour to keep up with the cost of inflation? I mean if you think about it, by raising the min wage up, you're making the cost of good and services go up and if you don't get an increase, it means your ability to purchase goods and services go down, so those who have worked hard to improve their lives, are the losers:idunno:

People make choices. They make choices to go to college, to learn and practice a trade, they choose easy paths to college degrees that have no marketability, and some choose not to improve themselves at all. Society, specifically taxpayers, are not responsible or accountable for these decisions.

 

As long as society rewards those who choose to underachieve with public benefits, more will choose to underachieve. It is a core tenant of liberal ideology to turn these individuals into votes.

It's a separate issue and let's not assume people who would benefit from a minimum wage increase don't work hard.

Sometimes they do all the right things and get laid off.

 

Sometimes they are working to put food on the table before they get that college degree or finish that training.

 

Sometimes they do all the wrong things yet they choose to work instead of being a drain on the state.

 

We are talking about people who want to work and survive. It's sad they can work full time and receive public aid.

And let's not assume that people who worked hard to get to a point of making more than a decent living, didn't start out making that min wage too but because of working hard, getting an education in a marketable degree ,keeping their noses clean, living within their wage earning ability in the early years, didn't work hard either.

 

I understand that more than you realize but when you work hard and you finally get ahead only to be pushed back by the cost of living, it's kinda of hard to take, when others just what it now, instead of working up that ladder!
