May 31, 20179 yr Like Tiger - Don't like Tiger The guy changed the game of golf for the better. He was a true athlete and not just a golfer. The other players on the tour had to become better athletes too if they wanted to compete. The fans were rewarded with the best 2 decades of competive golf ever. The best part is that it will continue for ever, and everybody can thank Tiger for it.

But he chose not to. Fuzzy made the comment, NOT Tiger. Sounds like you and Fuzzy need to learn about accountability.
May 31, 20179 yr Tiger was still the best in the world for 7 years after his dad died. He was player of the year and leading money winner 3x in the span. I agree his dad was a major influence in his life, and his death may have affected him, but I really don't think his dad dying was his undoing. To me it's really simple. Injuries and age. Woods was always a workout fiend and was a real athlete. He was a physical specimen and this is what separates him from other golfers. The Knee and back injuries changed all that. Plus other players started following his script, so the one advantage Tiger had was gone. Suddenly he was just another dude out there and he's never been able to overcome the injuries or adapt his style and game to his new physical limitations. I thinks it's these struggles that have played the biggest role in his mental downfall, much more so than his dad dying. 4 back surgeries, a couple knee surgeries...it's no surprise Tigers game and mind are in shambles at this point. Pain is a tough thing for many people to deal with, especially when it robs you of your livelihood like it's done to Tiger. You make a lot of good points but I feel steroids and HGH were more of Tiger's demise than anything. Yes, he did workout, but I feel much of his strength was related to PED use and I feel this is also the reason his body continues to break down on him.

My kids were young when he was at his peak. I was happy for his success because I thought that FINALLY there was a top athlete who was a great role model for my kids. Wasn't long before he started to screw that up. That where my problems with him began. Why can't you be a great athlete and great human being too?

I know there's many that think Tiger used PED's, but has he ever been formally linked to using PED's outside of innuendo and speculation?? I know he visited with A-Rod's doc, but I don't think anything outside of the ordinary stuff related to his knee surgery was found. Otherwise I don't think there's anything else out there.
May 31, 20179 yr Tiger's had a lot of procedures and surgeries and has totally blown his persona of being the "good guy". I feel like it's not out of the realm of possibilities he has gotten a little carried away with his Rx meds and could potentially have an addiction on his hands. Let's not act like Tiger is a choir boy, the events that happened around Thanksgiving a few years ago started the narrative that would unravel the truth about Tiger, an athlete who loved sex, booze, and partying as much as anything. So for me I believe the alcohol story as it has been proven he blew a 0.0. However, I do worry about his substance use patterns and his mug shot indicates some heavy prescription use. Obviously this would be easy to slip into considering the number of surgeries Tiger has had lately and the amount of pain he must be in. However, dependence is dependence and addiction is addiction. I work with quite a few addicts in my profession and many got their start just like Tiger, had an injury and it was just all down hill from there. Then you take someone like Tiger who likely has no shortage of pain meds or doctors willing to prescribe said meds, which leaves a dangerous situation. It's really kind of sad....
