May 31, 20179 yr I know there's many that think Tiger used PED's, but has he ever been formally linked to using PED's outside of innuendo and speculation?? I know he visited with A-Rod's doc, but I don't think anything outside of the ordinary stuff related to his knee surgery was found. Otherwise I don't think there's anything else out there. There may not be a lot out there, but anyone who followed Tiger's career should be able to see something wasn't all the way right here. Yes, nothing has ever been proven 100%, but that's is like saying they never proved Barry Bonds took steroids. With the number of injuries he has had and with the way his body has broken down on him, to me the answer is clear. Tiger Woods is a man whose body has been ravaged by HGH and PED use. Obviously this worked out for him early in his career when he was jacked and smashing the ball 300+ yards with one of the fastest club head speeds around. However, not working out for him as well now.

And while some PED users do suffer the breakdown, not all do (Bonds never broke down physically), and many, many people breakdown without ever having used PED's. He had a knee injury and back problems, which aren't to me typical injuries related specifically to PED use. Just Wood's body breaking down I don't think is necessarily a sure thing indicator that he was a PED user. Maybe he did, but I need more than that to convince me.

Fair enough, and you're absolutely right. Back and knee injuries are perhaps the worst, as they are hard to come back from. If your back and knees aren't 100% it's hard to perform at any level athletically so you're absolutely right when it comes to that and there's a chance his downfall is simply due to unlucky injuries. However, a lot of times when they're smoke, there's fire. I know when the A Rod stuff came out Tiger was heavily linked to all of that.

My thought is this....I don't think he did use PED's, but if definitive proof came out that he did, I wouldn't be shocked.

I just feel like Tiger got the most out of his body, especially when you consider he was out bombing guys that were much bigger and conceivably stronger than he was.
May 31, 20179 yr You make a lot of good points but I feel steroids and HGH were more of Tiger's demise than anything. Yes, he did workout, but I feel much of his strength was related to PED use and I feel this is also the reason his body continues to break down on him. I've always thought this too. He bulked up too quickly. Steroid use over a period of time appears to make athletes susceptible to injuries, particularly once they stop using them. I think that's what happened to Ken Griffy Jr after he left Seattle and came to Cincinnati. He stayed on the injured list for lengthy times.

May 31, 20179 yr This was all covered in the thread. Tiger definitely was impaired based on the available info. The arrest was definitely in order. And as @Beechwoodfan stated, I am sure the Meds Tiger was on had clear warnings. Does anyone know if the Police requested and received a blood sample from Tiger? Although I think Tiger is probably guilty of Driving Under the Influence of something if the Police didn't see any operation and there was nothing in his system beyond his prescribed medications I think it will be a very difficult case for the state to prove.

Yes he was a skinny kid in his teens and very early 20's. But looking at pictures, I just don't see where he was ever really bulky. Yes he was very fit, and his frame filled out as he aged (like most people), but at no time was he ever big. He never stood out as being huge on tour, and there are quite a few guys now that are much bigger than Tiger ever was. I think if steroids were ever in the picture, I think they would have come after the first knee surgery, which was at the tail end of his success and maybe done to speed up recovery, which was when he visited A-Rod's doctor. I don't think Tiger's size increase (which wasn't very much or abnormal to begin with) is a clear indicator of steroid use.
May 31, 20179 yr You guys act like Tiger went from 175lbs to 250lbs over night. Tigers increase in strength and size could easily happen normally if he was just training regularly. Everyone acts like if an athlete gets bigger and stronger they must be on PEDs. I mean these guys are genetically gifted to start with so their genetic potential is naturally higher than the average Joe. Not to mention they have the best trainers, chefs, guidance money can buy. Go train like a pro athlete with all the same benefits regarding programming and nutrition and anyone will see results that are leaps and bounds ahead of what they would see normally. As far as his injuries, IMO they are directly related to his swing. And once the back has issues it is really hard to come back from that. Ask Freddy Couples. Tiger put so much torque on his knees and back with his swing it was just a matter of time. I think having to change that switch to try to stay healthy has been the biggest reason for his struggles. He just can't figure out how to generate the power and not destroy his back and knees. Remember that Tiger's length and power did not increase that greatly over the years. At least not anymore than most guys. If he went from averaging 290/drive to 320/drive over night then maybe. Tiger might have been on PEDs, who knows. But his injuries and/or size isn't concrete evidence of it.

May 31, 20179 yr Even if they found him with the car running and the brake lights on in the middle of the street as was described?? That gives you (The State) operation for the most part but the problem with the case is this statement from Tiger: "an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications." In other words, Tiger is claiming it was a medical condition and when you are talking about someone with his type of resources the State will probably have to invest 100K into this case to have a good chance to win it and even then it is going to be difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
May 31, 20179 yr I will go further, I am not for or against Tiger (I like him as a Golfer) but I have reasonable doubt based on the little we know. With all that said, I would have arrested him and after I got the 0.0 Blood Alcohol result I would have immediately requested a blood test.

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

I thought that I saw on TV that the police said he had a 0 BAC. The police video may be released today. That should be interesting. I agree though, with his money and claims of a medication reaction, he likely could get off. Wouldn't that mean he would have to disclose his medications, including warning labels? I wonder if he submitted to a full blood tox screen and not just a BAC. That would be really interesting.
