BGP QOTD: What's automatically makes you dislike an athlete or celebrity?

Featured Replies

Is there some specific thing that a celebrity does or has done that makes you absolutely hate them? ...or some kind of quality about them?

They make a game-winning shot against the UK basketball team or step on one of their players.

Sincerely,

Randy Parker

Lack of humility and respect for the everyday person. Using their position as a "throne".

When celebrities try to talk and get all political it makes me nuts! They are living in their rich Hollywood bubble they don't know crap about the everyday life of people like us. Shut up!!!

I always hate hearing this. Just because someone chose the career path of say a movie star instead of a welder or a farmer, they don't get to voice their opinions? They decided what they wanted to be, worked towards it, achieved it, and just so happen to make a lot of money. That, IMO, doesn't disqualify them from being able to voice their opinions.

I'm drawn to athletes who are self aware and able to give credit to teammates willingly. The ones that don't, I don't care for.

I do not like when the media tries to push athletes down my throat as G.O.A.T. For example: Michael Jordan in the late 80'2-90s, Tiger Woods in the late 90's-00's, and LeBron in the 00's and 10's. I want to decide for myself. Yes, they are all world class and deserve all the accolades given. I just dont like when it when the media is pushing them down my throat in every tv spot, magazine/online article, pregame, etc...

99.9% of the time I agree, but the Rosie Odonald's of the world, that are so condescending. That say they are leaving the country if their person doesn't get elected that annoy me. I wish they would keep their word and leave.

For the most part I don't care one bit what the so called beautiful people of the world do with their lives. They are of little interest to me.

I really appreciate their talents whether it be music, acting, or sports. I don't really care what they do in their personal lives.

I do like the ones that realize they have been blessed and appreciate what they have. I don't pay much attention to the rest.

If I only chose the sports, music or movies that I enjoy based on the politics, personal behavior or condescending attitude of the artist involved...I'd never listen to the radio or go to the movies and I do both regularly.

All I want celebs to do is entertain me, if they want to share their politics with me I can change the channel or switch stations if it makes me want to vomit.

The ones that I automatically don't like? The ones with no talent!!! (Except Tebow, I love Timmy)

Agree with a lot of the reasons already listed. Will add when they play for a Pittsburgh team. :woot:

When they're only famous because their dad defended a murderer and had sex on camera with Ray J.

My man.

Acting like what they do is akin to neurosurgery, that because they are who they are their opinion matters more then he average Joe or Jane.

I really enjoy watching some of the competition shows on Food Network but some of the chefs have such a high regard for themselves and what they do. Get over it, you're a cook. If I want to put ketchup on your dish I will.
