B-Ball-fan
Not being a scientist I cannot say with any certainty that global warming is a reality however it's certainly not the least bit far fetched that the human race since the Industrial Revolution have had a massive destructive impact on Planet Earth. Those who shake their heads and dismiss the theory as rubbish are not scientist either, but their snort of derision tends to try to give them a pumped up appearance of an authority on a topic with which they cannot, if they're being honest, say they know with any certainty either. Dismissing it IMO is terribly irresponsible, when logic supports the validity of it as very possible. It just seems like common sense to take head to the evidence and warnings, and be better safe than sorry. Shutting one's mind off to it and perpetrating it as myth serves no one and does no one any favors. It's the same mentality that years ago snorted at the idea of recycling and wrote it off as tree hugging hippy speak, but thankfully some have progressed and we're seeing the benefits of it. The U.S. is sorely lagging behind Europe, but at least the general public is coming along to understand its essential merits. That's how it usually works...thinkers are ridiculed for thinking then their thoughts eventually are what helps our culture move forward when the general public gets around to catching up.
