Free College Education?

@Voice of Reason, you were a major champion of this idea last night...So let's hear it. How would this work without taking more of my hard-earned money out of my pocket?

 

Is a free secondary education now a basic right too?

 

What else should we give everyone for free? Anyone have some ideas?

Sorry if it came across as me being a major champion of the idea. All I am saying his other countries do it and why can't we. I don't like people dismissing the idea with zero consideration of it being possible. I would like to hear more information and details on how it would work before making a decision on it one way or the other.

So you don't really have a reason for thinking it's a good idea, you just do? Is that what you're saying?

You know if we taught what we should in K-12 education we wouldnt need as much secondary education. Hows that free K-12 education working out?

Not sure you could possibly prepare a 16 year old for what life would be like as a corporate employee that young. That's not reasonable IMO.

Hey, @UKMustangFan...put "free" in quotations next time, because as most of us on here know it's not free for those paying for it, which will be most of us.

Depending on the tax increase that would occur, I could be open to more taxation for free education at public universities.

I paid for my own. I see no issues with others doing the same.

I pay enough taxes for others use already.

I'll add I'm all for making college more affordable, as the costs have gotten ridiculous, but outright free is even more ridiculous IMO.

Well if that's the case I want a check for the tuition I paid years ago.
