Clemson 42 Louisville 36

Featured Replies

I'm not sure either of these teams have the discipline at the moment to compete with Bama or OSU at the moment. They both turn the ball over way to often. This game had the makings for a blowout, but the teams just kept giving the ball away. I could be wrong, but if UofL is going to backdoor into the playoffs or for Clemson to go undefeated again, they need to cut down on the turnovers. Great teams don't give the other team that many extra chances.

If that game was played anywhere besides Death Valley UofL wins by 7+.

It had a major impact on the game. I'm not sure why you deny it? I still love you but dang.

Because way too many people are overstating its value. UL came 1-2 plays from winning in Death Valley. I prefer to give credit to Dabo, Watson and Cain. Not the folks in the crowd. Lamar's Heisman candidacy is still very much alive and UL is still in the playoff hunt.

Had Clemson won 42-24 then I'd say UL was shook and Death Valley got to them. Seeing them lose because of lack of awareness by Quick doesn't make me change my stance of Death Valley being a place of distinct homefield advantage. Especially when I distinctly remember Jameis making Death Valley a mockery in 2013.

It would be 42-24 Louisville if this game was played at Louisville. Death Valley made a major difference tonight.

Undisciplined in the first half cost them. Fun game to watch.

Yep. Lots of people will say something along the lines of, "That play killed us" or "The refs cost us the game at the end", but if UL plays even a decent first half, they win.

Exciting game to watch. No skin in the game but I would like to have seen the Cards get the win.

I knew the Cards would come back, I just didn't think Clemson would have it in them to answer after getting behind.

It made a difference but I wouldn't say it made a major difference. James Quick's lack of awareness at the worst time possible made more of a difference IMO.

Of course if UL doesn't have another false start due to the noise right before that Quick had enough for the first down there anyway......

Special team kickoff return gave them life, can't let that happen.

Don't think this cost the Cards a playoff spot. Not yet. Still a lot of football to be played and other top teams are going to lose.

I told my brother Louisville is top 5 in talent this year easy......the problem with 2nd and 3rd chance guys are that they are undisciplined, or they wouldn't be in their 2nd and 3rd chance.

The penalties cost them, as did Quick not having a clue as to what he needed to do.

Why do we have to put the blame on one guy? There were dozens of moments throughout that game that added up to that loss. I hate when people want to place the blame on one person. If not for Quick, we (and he) wouldn't have been in a position to win anyway. He was the leading receiver last night, right?

I hope so.

100 % agree. That was the key to Clemson coming back.
