LongTimeReader
That's exactly why the program is in the terrible shape.....no confidence to play a better OOC schedule.....feeds down to players in the program and potential recruits Um, no the problem is with fans saying they should play a tougher OOC schedule. Programs must have realistic expectations. When is the last time UK has played in a New Years Day bowl? Outback Bowl against Penn St in '98. The goal for UK is make a bowl game, not to win the national championship or even win the SEC. The more you make bowl games the more exposure and national attention a team makes. Which in return in theory the better players UK would get. The better players means being able to beat better competition. Lets say Mark Stoops is able to win consistently and stays at UK, then UK could think about adding a mid to low Power 5 team, but until then UK should schedule teams that will add to their win column. I just feel if you take that approach.....you will never get to a bowl game.....and remain at a stand still program

Not only that, put people have no concept of how scheduling works. Ok, let's say UK wants to go schedule team X from another power conference. Not as if there are an abundance of teams out there looking for games against other power schools.
