8 o clock games on school nights, crazy on the kids

So if Beechwood makes the 1A, they'll be off school for 2 days I assume. Or at least a day and a half?

100% agree with this. There are places in the state that these people would not even get home until 4-5am. Games should start earlier on Sunday, or have 3 on Saturday. I'm guessing Saturday morning will be cleanup time from Friday? Or if this just a ploy to spread the teams out and pull in more money?

Also, the Thursday game is 1A for a reason. 1A is always the lowest attendance and that Thursday night game will be low because of the situation.

I think Friday is taken for both teams to practice and for TV to get everything set up. There may also be some field graphics being put on.

I think Saturday is going to be a nightmare from a logistics standpoint. How is parking around Western? Will it be full from the WKY game? Will there be room for tailgating for the state games.

 

Though it would be cool to get there real early, tailgate for the WKY game, then watch the WKY game and the state games.

The parking isn't great. The one thing we have going for us is that most WKU students head home on Thursday nights for the weekends.

Will any of the 1A Semi Finals opt to play on Thanksgiving night to give the winner a full week to prepare for the finals?

A good high school football game after eating turkey all day would be awesome.

A clarification question and comment:

 

The times listed above are: Thursday at 8 PM, Saturday at 6 pm and 9 pm and Sunday at 2 pm, 5 pm and 8 pm.

 

The Question: Since the KHSAA usually list the game times on their website as local BG (central time) times. I am assuming that they have kept with that protocal, am I right or have they listed them as Eastern times since the KHSAA offices are in Eastern time?

 

If they are using Central times as has been their norm, that means the games are actually 9 PM on Friday , 7 PM and 10 PM on Saturday and 1 PM, 4:30 PM and 8 PM in the Eastern time zone. Since at least one team in the A final, and possibly both (as 24 of the 31 teams playing are form Eastern time) will be from the Eastern time zone, that is awfully late for a game and then many fans driving home to school or work on Friday.

 

Same problem with the Sunday night 4A championship and work or school on Monday, especially for Johnson Central.

Can't do that. Stadium has to be available for college use the day before the game. TV may in fact limit access.

This will not be fair to the players and fans, move it back a week
