WKU is really in a tight spot. They can tell the KHSAA to look for another spot and then the Tops lose and the stadium is available, which costs them money. Or they can say "we aren't hosting the conference championship" which does a disservice to their team. They basically have to bide their time to see what happens with their college team and then go from there.

 

Likewise, if the KHSAA says we are leaving, where do they go? I know we're all saying Papa Johns or Commonwealth, but I'm sure there is more to it than just showing up and playing. There is security, concessions, admissions, etc. that would have to be hired. Almost any other potential site either isn't big enough, has grass instead of turf, or could potentially be hosting playoff games. It really is just a no-win situation for everyone until we see how WKU finishes the season.

That we know of...C-USA has some strict guidelines the Sub Belt never had. With all that said, let's wait and see what happens later this month at LT-Smith Stadium when "The Herd" comes Thunderin' in (pun intended). Don't forget folks, WKU ended Marshall's bid at a perfect conference season last year. And we all know WKU has struggled when the offense can't get going (remember when La Tech came in earlier this season?!), and ole Doc can coach.

If the C-USA Championship is the weekend of the KHSAA State Championship. Instead of shortening The 1-A prep week. Just bump it to the week after.

It doesn't do anything yet. If Marshall beats WKU on Thanksgiving Friday they'd win the division.

Tackett said yesterday that they were looking at doing something different. I guess people are not happy with spreading it around

Who did Tackett say this to? A contingency plan has already been set. They have to stick with something. People are being yanked around and plans need to be made. I support the championships being at WKU, but if they can't guarantee dates then they need to be moved.

I would hope supers and ads across the state are fighting this. There should be a guarantee from the host site. The contingency plan sucks and isn't good for the students or the schools. There are other places to play across the state or push the finals back 1 week. But this plan will be a mess.

I think the contingency plan at WKU is about the best they can do for that weekend. However, if that isn't good enough, then they should be looking at moving it to another spot. I think moving it back a week would be a terrible idea.

I've got a room rented for Friday night and Saturday night of that week. I'll cancel one or the other, depending on what the schedule says. But I too feel like I've been jerked around a lot.

 

Regarding tickets, I've still not seen any put up for sale on the KHSAA site, I'm assuming because they can't guarantee what games will be when and where.

2 years ago weather created havoc. You can't control weather everybody understands that, but this scenario is a month out.
