One correction for my man ATL. Browning did play and played well and the 3 headed attack of Hensley and Dixon and Bentley all went over 100 yards highlighted by Bentley and his 91 yard beauty immediately followed by a 57 yard punt return for a TD.

At Cabell-Midland.

LOL. Truth in middle school.

Aug. 25th @ Wireman.

He also says he is not retiring, just resigning. I would say that in a few years he will be back on the sideline somewhere. He told me before the state championship game that "wasn't it fitting that it ends with these two matching up again." We definitely had hints this was coming!

So Sheldon Clark only sits out one year? That does not seem right. I think you would have to sit out a minimum of two years.

No offense to Central, but reality is unless they play in their backyard they don't travel real well.

Fields has definitely been the biggest surprise and improvement on this team. He hits hard and has learned to run side to side very well. He is as tough as they come up the middle.

Belfry should be on the press box side of the field this year. They were opposite from where we broadcast last year.

Gees all this belly aching because a few things has to be changed. It is called LIFE. Come work with me at my job for 12 hours and when you walk out the door with me, you would probably say...a little inconvenience is not all that bad is it and thank the Good Lord we are alive and can be aggravated and also go watch some good football games. No facility that has been mentioned is perfect, but the finals at WKU have been great IMO. I do understand some of the frustration with logistics, but there are more important things in life.

This is truly a fitting game. The two top dawgs of 3A go at it once again. 5-5 in state championships in the 2000s... 8 out of the last 9 3A trophies combined. Much respect between these two schools.

Will be there with a truckload of Pirates.

The parking is a touchy subject over on the other site smh!

Pirates 35-14.

The way I look at it is how do we think, right now, does Belfry match up with Corbin? I think they would be a decent favorite against them or anyone else in 3A regardless of this weekend's result. So with that logic, I would keep the Pirates at number 1. I think a win by Corbin over Mayfield would just keep solidifying Corbin as a legitimate threat in 3a.

Preece is good to go and Adkins probably out this week and next still.

Woolum has not been cleared to kick but should be in the next game or two because of a thigh/leg injury that has been nagging. Varney can probably develop into a good punter, but he has not had many opportunities in game situations. Cook has done a more than adequate job filling in for Woolum.

IMO, talent wise this is the best team. Like ATL said, a full evaluation will come after the season is over.

From what ATL told me they used an ineligible freshman in garbage time. 1-0 Morristown West.

Not ready to make a prediction yet, but these type of games are great and I am sure Haywood will have them ready. First time the Pirates will face a team this year that can literally run with them. I am not talking about the rushing game, but the overall quickness and team speed.

Sounds reasonable to me.

????? Underdog??? Nahhhh

41-7 Big Red

James Earl Williams and another deputy travels with the team. For years they have traveled with an escort. Former longtime sheriff Fuzzy Keesee is a big Belfry supporter and current sheriff Rodney Scott has a son, Jordan, who plays on the team.

Thanks!
