I may have been under a rock here, but I was completely unaware of the moves. Allen Central and South Floyd are consolidating to form a new 3A school - Floyd Central. Floyd Central applied during the '15/'16 school year to enter KHSAA's football competition for the 2017 season. In order to add them, the KHSAA's rules called for a review of class enrollment numbers, and the '15/'16 enrollment numbers moved Moore to 4A for 2017, and South Warren to 5A for 2017.

KHSAA: ADJUSTED FOOTBALL ALIGNMENT, 2017 AND 2018 SEASONS

3A District 6: Belfry, Floyd Central, Lawrence County, Pike County Central, Sheldon Clark

4A District 3: Breckinridge County, John Hardin, Moore, Valley, Western

5A District 2: Barren County, Bowling Green, Grayson County, Greenwood, South Warren

So Greenwood and Bowling Green are in the same district now?

They've been in the same district, but now South Warren is getting added to the mix (maybe that's what you meant).

Yep...South Warren is going to get the match up they have been wishing and begging for the last three years. :sarcastic:

Ol' Coach Wallace just could not find a place on the schedule for the Spartans.

FS kneaded the dough a couple of times this year, y'all can bake the loaf.

Question is, why is Franklin-Simpson not playing BG? They've played football for decades and won state championships. I know Ol' Coach Wallace can find a place on the schedule.

Franklin-Simpson, Glasgow, Russellville, Hopkinsville, Owensboro, Paducah Tilghman, Mayfield, Murray all had long regular season game series with Bowling Green. The only team that shows up now, and that is during playoffs mostly, is Owensboro.

But why is FS not calling BG to play? I don't care who used to play BG in the 60's-90's. FS dropped BG a few years ago due to getting hammered by them every game. Now that they have arrived again, shouldn't they play BG again? And by the way, BG and Owensboro still play in the regular season.

1. Franklin gains little by playing BG. The gap is too wide. FS has had two runner-up teams in the last 6 years, both of which would have been running clocked by BG in those years...so what does getting running clocked do to help those two teams? Nada. They didn't play BG and made it to the Finals. Playing BG would not have allowed them to win either of those Finals. Much as it pains me to say, FS is doing what is best for FS.

2. When Lacey for SW and Tisdale for BG take the field for next year's game, will there have ever been two higher profile prospects on the same field for a BG-area game?
