I say they will be close to the same next year, when in Canton.

The 2nd year, when in Canton they will drop by close to the same as this season.

 

Ticket prices will be a big reason and of course most of the state won't want to make that long drive to the N.E.

Central/belfry was a small crowd. I would think 2500 tops?

What is a single game ticket going for?

$12 General Admission

I think there's just not as much interest in high school sports lately.

All-session ticket books for the seven state championship games in the club level, which are the chair-back seats on the west side of the stadium, are $105 each (good for all seven games) and also permit indoor access in the Huntington Club before, during and after each game. All-session general admission ticket books on the east and west sides of the stadium, which don't include indoor access, are $84 each. Single game tickets will go on sale in November and cost $10 at the state finalist schools, or at the gate before each game for $15 (club level) and $12 (reserved).

This is how many pep buses JC took to the game. They left this morning for the 4 plus hour trip!

Could the game time change from afternoon to night have affected attendance in 1A? Personally, I LOVED the night game, but not all families can afford the extra expense of a hotel room. I know a few people who were going to go, but changed their minds when they knew they would have a long ride back late at night. This may or may not have been a factor.

 

I remember when there was SRO at Beechwood games. Not so true anymore. Kids are involved in a lot more things these days and football is not the only thing going on anymore. A little sad, but not bad if it means more kids are involved in other activities.

 

I have been to every state game football Beechwood has ever played. I would say that crowds have been decreasing for awhile. I do think our crowd was bigger than Hazards, just by eyeballing it.

No offense to Central, but reality is unless they play in their backyard they don't travel real well.

The Ohio D2 rematch really hurt the Ohio numbers. The other games are comparable.

No programs means no info for fans. Sure dilutes the fan experience and that dilution compounds annually. The unknown of set game dates and times well in advance just makes long distance planning difficult.

 

Understand glossy professional program is cost prohibitive. Idea.....have each school provide one page (front and back) with roster, stats, etc. transmit to KHSAA by Tuesday. Print on simple copy quality stock, collate and staple for give aways at each gate. Cost would be minimal and product very fan friendly.
