I think the contingency plan at WKU is about the best they can do for that weekend. However, if that isn't good enough, then they should be looking at moving it to another spot. I think moving it back a week would be a terrible idea.

 

Moving it back one week is not a viable option. Graduation is scheduled for 9:30am and 2:00pm on Saturday.

I still believe WKU provides the most electric atmosphere for high school games, I never really enjoyed watching the games at Papa Johns. It wouldn't be better at Commonwealth.

In the grand scheme of things its not that big of deal. The kids don't care when or where they play as long as they get to play and that is who its about. The only people its tuff on are us adults who have to adjust schedules. WKU is the best place in the state to play the games facility wise so I hope it stays there but this is not the end of this type problem and we could see it again in future years so I hope all parties involved study options for future years. As for this year its to late for most options and we will just have to live with whatever the powers that be come up with.

If this scenario plays out...Sunday football! I'd rather watch KY HS Football athletes battle on the gridiron than a bunch of overpaid primadonnas in the nfl on a Sunday!

 

Adapt and overcome folks...as well as the khsaa by streaming it live rather than delay it!

I think the conference championship date is already set (Saturday). The start times are flexible based on who is playing, where the game is played, quality of the game regarding rankings/playoffs, etc.

I would assume they would be the only ones. Louisville and Eastern teams would probably rather go to Lex. I always feel bad when Belfry has to go 6 hours across the state for it.

 

Don't. It is my favorite weekend of the year and I'm always giddy to have the privilege of watching Belfry in the finals. Whats a couple of hours extra drive time?

What about the players staying up all night and going to school the next day and the safety of driving a bus at night? I wonder if C-USA will pay for the motels for all teams in this situation?

Wouldn't Georgetown be an option? Central location, installed turf, plenty of seating IMO, Eastern Played a game their earlier this year.....seems as though it could work.

I had to slap myself, as I've taken yours and some others thinking to this alternative schedule; the Boys Sweet 16 goes from Wednesday-Sunday every year and here we are griping about it going from Thursday-Sunday just one year? We need our heads examined.

 

I love my wife and kids just as much as the next man, but what's another day just hanging with the fellas? Needed. That's what.

 

Here is a potential weekend for 6 HS football games and a D1 Football Conference Championship weekend? Complaining? You need to slap me at that upcoming Pizza Pub visit we have scheduled over Christmas Break. :lol2:
