It certainly would be easiest and most logical way to solve the problem.

The simplest solution would be to make the finals Thursday and Friday.

 

It will be interesting to see if Friday is an option. TV may require the facility for all or part of the day for set up.

If both Friday and Saturday are out I believe the KHSAA would have no choice other than to move the finals to a different stadium.

 

Off the top of my head Eastern would be nice if available. UK and UofL are too big but they are both awesome venues.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but before the 6 class system and the addition of teams to the playoffs like in 80's and early 90's weren't some of the finals played on thanksgiving day and Friday or was it Friday and Saturday after thanksgiving?

I wonder if the Conference has any kind of stipulation that the field be available to both teams for a walk-thru the day before the game? That and TV may mean Friday and Saturday could be out.

 

What about hotel space? If KHSAA goes to Thursday/Sunday I guess enough people will vacate after Thursday night to have enough room for Conference Championship fans/media?

Warren Central is about a mile from Western's campus. BG High is about 3 or 4 miles from WKU and South Warren is about 10 miles away. An another school I forgot to mention was Greenwood High and I think they are about eight miles from campus.
