September 9, 201511 yr They interviewed a couple Bengals about playing in a hostile crowd in Oakland this weekend. The SEC guys all said no big deal. We played in the Sec, all crowds were crazy.

While the margin between Alabama and the rest of the conference is significantly less that doesn't mean any SEC team can just waltz through any conference. Also remember the best team just happens to be in what everyone thinks is the worst power 5 conference but they would smoke every team in the SEC Speaking of smoking.
September 9, 201511 yr It's the AP poll. About as relevant as the Harris Poll these days. It's the same crowd that only watch highlights and listen to Herbstreit and vote how he speaks. Alabama is good, but Wisky was breaking in a new O Line and have no playmakers on O. Oh, and the same D that gave up over half a hundred to Ohio State. A&M is the hallmark win, but vs Az State? Who are they? When they ever win a game deserved of being ranked ping me. Still some really bad teams in that conference. USC pulled Houdini to beat a bad UNC team. Vandy lost at home to western. UK is well, UK, but keep thinking your gonna win with kids from Ohio that Meyer or Harbaugh or Dantonio have no interest in. Stoops has built IU South. SEC probably would still get my vote as top conference, but things will shake out. Will a loss actually be a loss this year, or like in years past will it be overlooked as long as it's to an SEC team? We shall see.

September 9, 201511 yr The SEC won 7 straight. They've sent teams to the last two Championship games that lost the past two years by a combined 10 points. I highly doubt Saban or Miles feel as though the sky if falling. Georgia has been good but not great, Florida has been a shell of itself the past few years. Regardless, the rankings are correct for now given recent history(past decade). The SEC didn't send a team to the championship game last year. Alabama lost to Ohio State in the first round of the playoffs. Ohio State beat Oregon in the championship game. And the SEC won't win the championship this year either. And probably not next year also. The reign is over. That's part of my point.

September 9, 201511 yr Silliness. You don't have to love the SEC, and you don't have to agree with 10 out of 25 (I certainly don't), but calling some of these teams bad just looks ridiculous. So is the prorogation of SEC mythology that is no longer merited.
