I would guarantee there is no way all voters watched every game. My point is we can't just assume those teams were voted in because they have SEC painted on their field. We can play "what if" all day long but the fact is UL didn't beat Auburn.

 

I don't think they watched every game either. I do think because teams have SEC painted on their field that they are given the benefit of the doubt on how good they are compared to other teams that aren't in the SEC.

Probably because ranking are meaningless and UT was ranked on the fringe of the top 25. In fairness too, BYU's Heisman hopeful QB was lost during the game and is out for the season. Maybe the voters were aware of that, whereas many casual fans (even on here) were not aware of that?

I'd like to think the poll should be the best 25 teams in the country. I didn't realize that a blowout over Southwest Georgia Tech A&M is all the barrier the Cards needed.

Without knowing who was ranked higher to start the season, UT won by almost 30 while BYU won on a game ending Hail Mary. If your are a voter and have 2 teams pretty even something has to be the tie breaker. I would expect the voters would always value a power 5 conference team over a mid major, no matter if it's the SEC or one of the others.

Well now you're just making things up. If Wisky beat Bama or Va Tech beat OSU should the Tide of Buckeyes fall out of the rankings since the only sample would be a loss?

 

I wish this was a different team than U of L since we're on a Kentucky message board. Either Auburn isn't a top 10 team, or they actually are number 6, but 7-25 would all hypothetically play them within a touchdown. Maybe there are 25 teams better than U of L, but 10 of them aren't in one conference, and it is absurd for wins to be the only games that count in any ranking system.

What am I making up? There was 3 teams ranked in the top 25 last week that lost. All 3 dropped out of the top 25. Would OSU have dropped out if they lost? probably not. They were hands down the number 1 team and top to bottom the most talented. They could have survived a loss last week.

So you find no logic in the poll yet are arguing a team that lost should move up in the poll over a team that won.

Massey computer has SEC 12 out of the top 26.
