I did not really know Michael until I joined BGP in 2012 I think, but since that time he went out of his way to include me in ANYTHING associated with his beloved BG Purples. He sent me programs like Adopted Admiral said for the past two years. He was selfless. When I think of Bluegrass Preps, I think of Purple Haze and always will.

 

Everytime, since I first met Michael, that I would attend a Purples game I would find Purple Haze and say hello and talk football. He loved it. He loved being around the team and the guys on the team got to really know and admire him because he truly cared so much about them and the school. A trait that is sorely lost today. I think they respected that even at a high school age because it was so rare.

 

I am so thankful he got to experience The Fant Years and truly enjoy the fruits of his early seeds. I hope they frame the Gold #57 jersey and put it in the fieldhouse in his honor.

 

May God Rest His Soul & Comfort those of us who truly miss him.

I just now saw this and it brings a tear to my eyes. I have just been sitting here all morning feeling sad at the loss of my old buddy. For years we traded programs and I always looked forward to seeing him at the state finals every year. It was especially fun a couple of years ago when I was sitting with Mr. & Mrs. PH and Westsider at the BG title game. Recalling such good times brings a smile among my tears as I recall a few meetings with PH going back years. BG has lost their greatest fan, program ambassador and historian. PH has told me of old stories about Mayfield that I never knew. RIP ole friend, tell Westsider hi for me and to Ms. PH my thoughts and prayers are with you. He will be forever missed.

To everyone else, PH did some work for BGP. He was dependable, competent, extremely hard working, enthusiastic, and an incredible human being. His passing is a great loss in many ways. His family, and especially his wonderful wife, are in my thoughts.
