Did Trinity's Coach Beatty Really Say.............

Featured Replies

What's disappointing is that this thread has more posts and views than the actual game thread. Takes away from an awesome effort by both teams.

Yep.

Now for the rest of the story! This explanation comes from a player. COACH WOLFE IS NOT PART OF THIS STORY!

This goes back to game one versus Male. After the Male victory Mr. Wakefield was doing a little dance on the Trinity T at midfield. Mr. Wakefield then slapped Coach Beatty on the back a little harder than the normal exchange between coaches. Wakefield stated the Bulldogs left it all on the field that game and took it to Trinity. Coach Beatty sought Wakefield out Friday to remind him Trinity left it all on the field and took it to Male this time. I am paraphrasing here "Enjoy turning in your gear on Monday". A couple of the Male players overheard the exchange and took offense to it and reacted negatively. These players were probably unaware of the original exchange in October.

The moral of the story is: Don't slap Coach Beatty on the back and verbally poke the bear and not expect to hear the same the next time.

I am confident Trinity had a nice bus ride home.

To quote Sweeperboy: Uhhhh -- welcome to the world of sports!

Yep.

In my humble opinion, this thread should never have been started. The original post that caught RAM's attention was buried in the game thread. It is interesting that Coach Beatty's words wield such a strong emotional grasp on the average BGPers from across the Commonwealth.

It never would have been started if he hadn't said it.

Actually I don't think the majority of the people across the commonwealth care just because it's Coach Beatty. I do think people think whoever acts like that as a coach and person in a position of influence and authority as a bad example and a little bit immature. Insert whoevers name you want after the word coach, it would be viewed the same. Beatty doesn't carry enough weight with the majority of the people of this state to even care about who he is.

Like I said, it doesn't even have to be him that said what was said after the game, any coach in the state would be looked on the same and that is of a little baby if they had said the same. So in my eyes, both coaches responsible are both big babies.

......And I bet that both coaches don't give 2 squats what you or anyone else on here thinks.....

Which would actually further qualify them in the negative light if that is indeed the case.

As opposed to? The above-average BGPers? The far right-hand side of the bell curve?

......And I bet that both coaches don't give 2 squats what you or anyone else on here thinks.....

And with people like yourself allowing them to continue in their childish ways it's no surprise they continue to act like babies.

This is turning in to some soap opera. The story is being stretched because everybody bundled up in the stands could hear what was said on the field. :ohbrother:

a T asst. coach said something to an H asst. coach. Beatty got in the mix so the T players got in the mix. H players responded and were more difficult to get composed after an OT loss. Nothing major happened. Nothing worthy of discipline for coach or player. An emotional rivalry with a pair of super match-ups.

This type of nonsense and "exposure" is another example of why many leagues have abandoned the post-game handshake altogether.

Also, I hope the adults can let it go. H and T provided us with two great games this season. Bulldogs won in 2OT @ T. Shamrocks won in OT @ H. The last thing KY 6A football needs is for these two teams to avoid scheduling each other harboring some bad blood. As I've said before, the JV and Freshman games were decided by less than a TD.

And I would also think a money maker for both schools.

Was that a shot at my Republican brothers and sisters? :lol2:

Never do or say you don't want to be on the front page of the paper...or in this a thread on the high school football forum.

My issue with all this is the ego of the coaches. It's not about the coach, it should be about the players who have been preparing since January for an opportunity to play for a state championship. If a high school coach thinks he's bigger than the game or has that big of an ego then he does not need to be a high school coach.

These men are supposed to be leaders and examples for their players?
