LRCW Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 "enjoy turning in your equipment tomorrow", to Male's Coach Chris Wolfe? Are you saying that's what caused the big skirmish after the game?
Ram Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Are you saying that's what caused the big skirmish after the game? Not sure, I'm asking if he said it. The answer to that question may shed some light on the post game activity.
Ram Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 No, not him... My nose is stopped up, but do I smell some sarcasm?
ThrillVille Cardinal51 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I want this to be true. I love controversy, especially when I'm just a spectator.
CoachBuckett Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 IF Coach Beatty said that to Coach Wolfe I just lost a some respect for the man. I know this game was full of emotion, but you got the win move on.
thsrocks Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Where did you get this quote? The "Director of Football Operations" should have a solid source before publishing this quote.

Ham Bone Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 This is turning in to some soap opera. The story is being stretched because everybody bundled up in the stands could hear what was said on the field. :ohbrother: a T asst. coach said something to an H asst. coach. Beatty got in the mix so the T players got in the mix. H players responded and were more difficult to get composed after an OT loss. Nothing major happened. Nothing worthy of discipline for coach or player. An emotional rivalry with a pair of super match-ups. This type of nonsense and "exposure" is another example of why many leagues have abandoned the post-game handshake altogether. Also, I hope the adults can let it go. H and T provided us with two great games this season. Bulldogs won in 2OT @ T. Shamrocks won in OT @ H. The last thing KY 6A football needs is for these two teams to avoid scheduling each other harboring some bad blood. As I've said before, the JV and Freshman games were decided by less than a TD.

The above is fine but it doesn't seem to answer the original question.
FootballBobcat Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Heard this rumor and honestly think too much is being made of it. I don't know the relationship the two coaches have and why it would have been said (if it was said at all), or how or what spirit it would have been said. Is it a "response" to something the other coach (or someone on his staff) said previously? Don't know. Either way no coach should do that and should remain classy -- isn't this what we teach our kids. Isn't winning and playing on enough? As for the parents, players and everyone else, to me, stay out of it and let it go and move on. Holding on to it and "remembering" only fuels the fire of something much worse happening in the future beyond what little did happen after the game on Friday. Its a great rivalry and has been posted, they played two great games this season and the JV and Freshman played games decided by less than a TD.

Uhhhhh....welcome to the world of sports Should it be a part of the game?, Nope, does it happen alot? Yep, does it fuel the fire for the next time? Yep, is it classy or proper etiquette? Nope. If all the players during this rivalry game and others were mic'd during the game and released in the news media, mothers all around the nation would be washing out little Timmy's and Dejuan's mouths Heck, those were just words that allegedly were said, nobody mentioned what happens in the piles like the punches, the spitting, the twisting and blowing in the earhole that take place during most if not all rival games... Two yeps and two nopes, Nothing really to see here folks, time to move on:thumb:
sports fan Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Beatty would never say that. He may not be perfect - who is? - but he would not say that to coach Wolfe. All accounts I heard were that H assistant coach Wakefield was the instigator, and that his involvement actually began after the 2OT win at T. To what degree anyone was responsible for any escalation we may never know. What I DO know is that it happened in front of the T bench, where the H folks should not have been. Those that I know who were down by the fence indicated that parents were as much to blame as anything.
