Did Trinity's Coach Beatty Really Say.............

Featured Replies

I find it really really difficult to believe that Coach B would say anything like that. I would need uncontroverted proof - not rumors and "he said he said."

Great rivalry - great series.

win with class - loose with class.

Was there a fight by players? Can anyone be suspended?

Beatty absolutely would say that, but so what?

Where did you get this quote? The "Director of Football Operations" should have a solid source before publishing this quote.

Have you ever known me to post something without a quotable source?

It was just a scuffle, a lot of pushing & shoving & yapping, it was seperated quickly, no big deal

a T asst. coach said something to an H asst. coach. Beatty got in the mix so the T players got in the mix.

So, did the Trinity Assistant Coach say the quote above? Or, did he say something else?

It would seem that quite a few people care.

Ive heard alot of worse things said at the end of games between coaches and players.

Beatty would never say that. He may not be perfect - who is? - but he would not say that to coach Wolfe. All accounts I heard were that H assistant coach Wakefield was the instigator, and that his involvement actually began after the 2OT win at T. To what degree anyone was responsible for any escalation we may never know. What I DO know is that it happened in front of the T bench, where the H folks should not have been. Those that I know who were down by the fence indicated that parents were as much to blame as anything.

Why are you determined to indict Wakefield? He was the one getting all the players back! The kids started jawing pregame. This goes back to the season games.

As for H folks not needing to be by the T bench... Both teams have 100 players dressed for Friday nights. There will be long lines of players after a game. After the game while T huddled in the end zone (Male's side of the field) it was T adults who were running their mouths to H adults near the concession stand!

Bottom line, if the quote questioned by the original post is true, it could not be said by a coach on the losing side. This is all about something stupid that starts mess all the time. From HS to pro. T didn't want H celebrating on their huge midfield T. So after ter this game, while this royal rumble:deadhorse: took place on T's sideline, where were a few T players dancing? Of course, Male's huge midfield H.

Dumb

You obviously have not coach against Beatty, he is like this always to other coaches and officials.

My respect for Trinity football just took a hit.

Have no idea what happened the other night..was not right there.

But is this the same Wakefield - larger asst. for Male? - that was dancing on the 'T' when they beat Trinity? I was right there and saw that with my own eyes. Was sitting with some Male friends, who were quite upset sitting in the stands and watching him do that.

Really who cares....it's a rivalry and not much love lost. That's what makes it fun.

Should there have been a scuffle...nope...but hey I hope they play again next year - twice.

You are correct with which coach Wakefield is. I would not be surprised if Wakefield did what is accused of him, and not surprised about Beatty.

Beatty absolutely would say that, but so what?

Have you personally ever heard him say something like that before?
