Did Trinity's Coach Beatty Really Say.............

Featured Replies

Yes, it does speak to coaching. I tell my kids that if they hear something offensive, count to 10 before you respond. If you cannot control your emotions as an adult, you have no business being a leader of youth!!!!

I can somewhat agree. What I meant was, they both apparently are pretty good coaches, some folks I have heard say that Beaty may be one of the best in the state, now of course that comes mostly from T fans, but his actions after the gam, although I think was pretty childish, it does not however mean he can't coach. What it does mean to me anyway is he isn't someone I'd look up to or want my kid to emulate if he acts like this more times than just this past Friday, same goes for M's coach.

Some of the best people in their fields can still be buttheads.

Louisville Schools have to have something to whine about, none of them are going to make it to the title game again this year. :whistling:

A bunch of crybabies...the sour grapes are quite evident:thumb

So, a Male asst coach showed poor sportsmanship in the regular season game and head coach Beatty returned the favor with poor sportsmanship after this one.. Okay, I get it.. Way to be better than that Coach B.. That's the kind of coach I'd want teaching life lessons to my kid.. No wonder all the T fans want everyone to move on.. Even they know it wasn't the classiest thing to do..

If I was coach Wolfe and knew this went on in the regular season game. The Asst. would of apologized and this would of been squashed. Instead, you got the meat head assistants showing their true colors. No wonder those type of coaches give football coaches bad names, BUT since they drink beer or went to college with some idiots on this website will say "he does a good job." or "He has great character." Too many coaches get too much credit for things they don't deserve.

Not condoning Beatty's actions, but why is Male coaching staff exempt if they smarted off after the regular season game?

Here's the reality of high schools sports in the Louisville area. If you are one of the chosen schools (aka private catholic/christian schools), then you get a pass on anything that remotely resembles poor sportsmanship or no class. It's always "an isolated incident" or in response to something that the other team did. Conversely, if the shoe is on the public school foot, then it's because they are thugs, don't work hard and have no discipline. I've been on both sides, so don't tell me I don't know.

Neither sides behavior surprises me, but if it weren't for all of the immature, chest pounding, ego filled high school coaches out there, what would we have to talk about on here?

Time out for what may be a silly question .... why are posters referring to Male as "H"?

Male was always called The High School. The H is for "High" School.

It was the first public high school in town, originally it was just High School, so it is known as H

So, back to the original post that Ram gave us, yes, Beatty did say that, despite all the protestations on here that "Beatty would never say that."

I reiterate my many posts on this Board that the post-game handshake line should be discontinued because grown babies like Beatty (and Wakefield, if it makes T fans feel good about themselves) have no control over their emotions anymore.

Please, Beatty's resume speaks for itself, take all the shots you want, pathetic

I wonder what is more important to most people. Their résumé or their character? :idunno:

We all know the question to this one L...

Its character and when you are as classy as Beatty and T the rest speaks for itself. The success and championships is what most if not all people will judge the winners on and as soon as somebody says she said he said, the haters want to cast the stones.

I have no doggie in this fight but if my sons would have lived in Lou they would have been Rocks:thumb:

I can tell you this much, if Bob Beatty was not a class and upstanding kind of guy then he would not have been at T as long as he has. There is alot of fire power and legacy in that camp that would not have put up with antics that some are portraying this man to be. win or lose...just sayin

Well let me respond by saying L.........I don't have a dog in this fight either, and I'm certainly not a hater, nor am I casting stones. I was simply responding to the one poster who stated that Coach Beatty's résumé spoke for itself when responding to how he reacted after the game.

Hmmm...or the leadership above him carries the same type of disdain for their public school rivals and is not overly concerned about this behavior (as mentioned by other coaches on this board it's not the first time he and others have exchanged pleasantries)? Character (of which I am not questioning as I do not attend church, live at home with him, or am there when nobody is watching) may not always be the biggest concern if he's not out raising heck and in the news, but let's remember that winning covers up a lot of "issues", and that's on both sides of the fence. Yes even in high school, especially high profile schools, winning DOES matter and often times "little" things aren't big things until you start losing. Keep in mind, we all fall short of the glory, and nobody is perfect, so I am not crucifying anyone here.

I have seen where more and more schools do the hand shake pre-game. Perhaps that is a better way to go if we cannot seem to keep in perspective that this is JUST a game and in the end is NOT life or death. My dad used to say if you can't shake the hand of the man that beats you, then you aren't much of a man. Sounds like the coaches and kids need that reminder...regardless of who started it.

What's disappointing is that this thread has more posts and views than the actual game thread. Takes away from an awesome effort by both teams.

What would be the best title to this debacle?

- Handshake gate?

Might make for a good subtitle to the Beatty biography..... When pointing to the scoreboard is not enough. ... Turn the other cheek. Unless it's your cheek you have to turn.

I am Beatty fan but this is not cool.
