Did Trinity's Coach Beatty Really Say.............

Featured Replies

It's one thing to say something in the heat of the moment. It's something entirely different to let something fester for weeks and then say something. Let it go! Life it too short and there are too many more important things.

Poor form by Beatty. Bush league if you ask me.

You are the Head Coach of the flagship program in the State of Kentucky and one of the top programs in the entire nation. Your resume should do all the talking you need. Plus it was an Assistant Coach... probably not even getting paid... just let it rest. If you really felt like you needed to take a pot shot back (which I still think should be beneath him) he could have been much more coy than saying something that obviously would have offended the kids around them.

"Forget your dancing shoes tonight, Coach?"

"Good season. See you in Bowling Green Coach Wakefield... Your ticket is on me"

"Sorry for cutting in"

"Easy on the back slap tonight Coach, it is mighty cold"

"

Success breeds contempt. Interesting that folks who support schools other than T have posted on this thread more than on their own game threads! Haha. A whopping 4 replies on the thread about X's victory over Manual, but 4 pages on what Coach Beatty did or did not say. Too funny.

Why hasn't any commented on how Male acted after beating Trinity on Senior night. Wakefield was standing at the middle of Trinity's field with a whistle blowing it at the top of his lungs exiting his team to dance and act like they had never won a game before. Why didn't Male's head coach put a stop to that then maybe the skirmish would not have happened the other night.

People love a good story.

If it was that big of deal someone should had started a thread, like Ram did with this situation.

I'm sorry, but if you're really using the "they started it" excuse to justify a potential poor reaction following a playoff game then we need to keep this thread going so we can talk about the deeper issue. C'mon man! :ohbrother:

Eighty one posts on this thread and the words most used are "story" and "baby."

Is there anyone posting that actually heard every word that was said? Is there anyone that saw everything that went on that night? Everything?

WE have all watched football and played football over the years, or even sports of all kinds. We got race car drivers fist fighting after the race. We got St.X AND UC fist fighting on the basketball court. We have professional base ball players fighting at the pitchers mound while the benches are being emptied. We have fans getting thrown out of stadiums on Sunday afternoon because they can't hold their liquer or temper in check. How about that Saints fan that took away the game the game ball that was intended to be for that lady Bengal fan.

Not to thread jack but have had numerous coaches that weren't saints. Bobby knight threw a chair across the court and punched his own son in public. Bear Bryant lost his job because he punched a player. Pete Rose..............? you know. A buddy of mine ran into Huggins in a bar on Friday night, took a selfy of them, they were so drunk in public they could hardly stand up.

This is the very few that I remember off the top. Great coaches that made bad decisions. Things happen when the testosterone starts flowing, it's life, shouldn't we used to it by now? Oh, one more coach, Jerry Sandusky, need I say more? IT's nothing new, get over it.

I could say a ton on the subject and on the posts in the thread. Some very good posts, others a bit misguided or hypocritical, IMO.

Instead, just to the bolded. Bear didn't get fired for punching a player, he retired from Alabama. Woody Hayes lost his job for punching a Clemson player.

A previous post mentioned that there should have been a thread started about Male's antics after their 2OT victory (and there were PLENTY). I believe the reason there was no thread is twofold: 1) they had not won 10 titles in the last 14 years, and 2) T felt like the payback would come later in the season on the field.

I love trash talking. Especially amongst coaches. Love it. :lol2:

I'm just making this post to help get this thread to 6 pages. HAHAHA.

Ah, yes. The two wrongs make a right defense.

I believe thsrocks explained in post 34 what happened in decent detail.

I am not sure where you were going when you start talking about Bobby Knight, Bear Bryant, Pete Rose, Bob Huggins, and Jerry Sandusky? We all have our flaws? Sure. But that does not mean people have to ignore it.
