Here is my question. How come Reece Phillips came into the game instead of Maxwell Smith?? What's wrong with him?

UK has to improve in the trenches. Run defense is awful. Run blocking is awful. Stoops will fix that though.

Everyone needs to focus on one game...Louisville. Let's save the gloom and doom for after that game if Kentucky loses

Max ran scout team this past week and Reese got game prep reps. That's why.

Even more reason that we should have played max. If he played scout team, that means he would've looked like Tennessee's QB, right?

Everytime I try and focus on Ville game....I see doom!!

Gametime....I know this is right up your alley, but I beg to differ with your theory.

It's a numbers game. If there are about 150 kids each year getting D-I scholarships from the state of Ohio and Urban Meyer, for conversation sake let's say, gets the top 25, you don't think there are enough other top players for a Kentucky to establish themselves in the state of Ohio and get 8-10 players each year and be competitive in the SEC.

I say if Mark Stoops can convince 8-10 of the top 50 players in Ohio each year to come to UK, mixed in with some Kentucky kids, the Wildcats could be very competitive in the SEC and not just fighting for that 6th victory each season.

There's only a handful of kids on Ohio who can play in the SEC each year.

This. Reality is most 4 stars in Ohio would be 3 stars if they were born in Florida or Georgia. UK is building a B1G roster which isn't a recipe for success in the SEC...

I do not think Max will ever play in a game again, shoulder will never be "right."

Max has assumed the role of assistant QB coach.

Handful as in five or less?

This team looks a step slower than it was earlier in the year. 8 straight games and 7 of them SEC teams takes a toll. The depth is not there yet to sustain the team during the stretch. Still too early to criticize Stoops on his recruiting. He only has one full recruiting class in and one that he only had 3 months to recruit. After next year maybe we can talk. But when I look at this roster, a lot of the skill kids are from Florida and the south.

Handful as in five or less?

Yes, I would find that be accurate. Since Urban has been at OSU and we all know he's a former SEC National champion, instate Ohio kids are finding it much more difficult to get an OSU offer.

Just so I'm clear.

OSU just got a commit from a 3* DE from Columbus.

Does that mean he's really a 2*? If so, 2* can get offers from Ohio State?
