Woodland 8th beat Highlands last night by 15 or so.

 

Woodland has a nice point guard, kid is quick with great handles and is very strong with the ball.

If you are refering to the games in Ohio this past weekend, yes he did play well. as did that whole team. I watched 3 of their games againt 8th grade teams and don't think i've seen a team with more heart and skill.

Anyone know how Conner's 7th grade did against Camp Ernst tonight?

 

Conner won 40-29. Conner in control the whole game.

Covcath will be loaded next year. Thelen and Coldiron are known talents but the kid from Cardinal Pachelli, a Moeller feeder, will be the gem of the group. A nice talent with a strong basketball iq.

 

Are you talking about Jack Davin? No decision has been made on HS, but he is about 6'4" and can play.

He's not 6'4, more like 6'1.

Stallman - St.Pius. May be a half step slow, but a flat out shooter. Good Bball IQ too.

How did they do against 6th/7th? I don't know as much about their 8th. But, know their 6th/7th are really good.

If this is asking about HMS/Turkeyfoot, I can give info about the 7th grade game.

 

HMS wins by 30 or so. I think it ended up 62-30.

They have a kid named Lawrence Washington who is about that height and another bench player who doesnt get many minutes and is pretty tall. They have a couple nice players but are not very good shooters. Overall I would say they are a decent team with no real superstars. Raekwon is very fast but sometimes out of control. The Greene kid is a pretty smooth player but seems a bit laid back and doesnt attack like he should. Layne is a streaky shooter...in the two games with Highlands he hasnt done much but he could be a kid who gets hot.

Conner 6th is currently playing down at KBA. I see Campbell County and Walton Verona are down there too. Conner wins big tonight 62-17 vs Madison Central. MC had some big kids but couldn't get the ball past half court the first half. At one time is was 18-0 Conner. The little red headed point guard for Conner had a great game with 16 points, numerous assist and a handful of steals.

 

We'll see how tomorrow goes for the Colts, lots of big kids at KBA...a couple of hold backs too from some of the more rural schools. This is a great experience for these kids, not very often do you get a chance to see how you compare to teams from around the state. Would be nice if more NKY schools could play in this tournament.

 

Campbell Co wins by 10 and WV lost by 9.

Campbell Co. 6th is not down there and Walton Verona doesn't have a 6th grade team.
