The QB looked like HOGE, enough said.

The quarterback for CC was a Hoss. Similar build to Hoge, but much taller and bigger. One of the biggest guys on the field.

Looks like I missed a good ending, left during the 3rd after a nice Rocko interception. Hoge was very good at evading some serious pressure.

Who schedules these games? And Elder in 2 weeks? Just think of the sweatshirt we could have by playing a "normal" schedule.

Question for Highlands fans? Is this a moral victory for Highlands?

Moral victory????? I put my Bluebirds ahead of SK any day. Like I said before, to be a champion, you have to schedule and play the best.

You know he has a watch from a couple years ago that says runner up! Seriously though!

Better team won, no doubt...

Birds learn from this one and that is all that matters.

Hope both teams survived any serious injuries and it looked like two small college programs playing today at DCM.

There was some quality hs football played in Ft Thomas today and anyone that missed it really missed out on some good stuff...JMO:thumb:

I saw you and Hoosierbird, but didn't get a chance to buy you guys a soda. I'll try again at the Elder game.

At least the Birds went down swinging, which is all that matters.

Question for Highlands fans? Is this a moral victory for Highlands?

This is actually a good question UK. No good team ever admits to a moral victory and Highlands coach specifically said that this was not a moral victory. However, as an HHS fan, I am fairly pleased with the game because (1) CC was very good and physically better than HHS, (2) HHS got down early and never gave up and came back strong and (3) HHS will get better as a result of this game - they can see areas where they need to improve and work on them.

So while the HHS faithful will not say this was a moral victory, I think a lot of folks around Ft. Thomas actually feel better about their team tonight than they did last night.

I don't know that I'd call it a moral victory. When you're HHS, I don't think so.

ggc's post is spot on, I think.

You know he has a watch from a couple years ago that says runner up! Seriously though!

AllenR showed us their banner. It does have a regional and district champs on it. So.....

What's funny is I didn't even know they awarded district and region champs in football.

How come everytime Highlands loses they have to qualify it with they are still the best team in NKY?

Always seems to come off as a bit insecure.

Because teams in NKY often wait weeks or seasons for them to lose to start the debate.

na na na na na naaaaaaa!! Because we are apparently coming back to the pack and we have to make sure they still know who if the leader of that pack. LOL

We do do that though! But I don't think that started until all this "#1 in NKY started", I don't ever remember even worrying about that until a year or two ago.

I wished the Birds had won this game, but I must say I love this team. They don't give up. I love seeing the controlled anger. (a little mean never hurt). Hoge is a leader and I am fortunate to get to watch him on Fridays or Saturdays. Kendell, Veneman, Beal, loving it. Really just love the way this team pulls together when they are down. Columbus has some great athletes from all over.
