Why does the post Hoge era scare me so much?

 

The good thing is the current era is still going strong and is expected to last into Dec. So I say enjoy the ride and we cross next years team after State sometime.

I didn't misunderstand anything. I asked a question seeking clarification, which is what you do to ensure there is no misunderstanding.

 

But, I will add this, since you believe that I am off...

 

A loss by Highlands in no way alleviates any perceived or real heat on Wirth. Intentional or not, the thought that a Highlands loss to a big school FL team could, in any way, affect CCH's coaching situation is misguided and frankly, arrogant.

 

The thing is, if you think the PHM isn't paying attention to what Highlands is doing, well, is misguided as well. I know this because I am asked over and over about Highlands. What they are doing, who they have, how will they do. They are paying attention. But then again, we are talking about a totally fictional group of people that have no affect on CCH.:sssh:

No sir. I'll try again. This is not about whether or not CCH pays attention to the HHS program. It's about whether or not a close HHS loss, to a big, FL school, lessens any pressure on Wirth - this also assumes that he is under serious pressure. IMO, the thought that his job is more secure based on HHS's result this weekend is misguided and/or arrogant.

In other words, any issues at CCH, perceived or real, did not change because Highlands lost a close football game.

I don't know but it scares me too...

IMO, Hoge is the most valuable player in the state this year...I said "most valuable", not "best" although I think he is VERY good. If he stays healthy, HHS is the clear favorite to get to the state championship and very possibly win it. Without him...not so much...

You may be right on this one HB...he is definitely the MVP of HHS but I have not seen enough other teams to make the statement about the entire state. Basically, I sure hope he heals up and is ready to go after the Holmes game. My guess is HHS will NOT play him against Holmes.

That team doesn't have a shot with Damien Harris!! Madison Southern is not a good football team. I watched a little bit of the game on Friday night and both of those teams are BAD!!

 

C'mon Hellbird, now you are sort of embarrassing yourself. People are calling you out on goofy things you are saying and you are now resorting to ridiculous comments:

 

(1) Calling CC a "has been Florida team that will lose its first playoff game"...really? You just sound foolish saying this. They are 6-1, a top ten team in the largest division of arguably the best high school football state in the country and if you were at the game, you would agree they are as talented as ANY team in Kentucky or Ohio. They are well coached too. Their only loss is to Miami Central, a perennial national powerhouse. I have seen all the GCL teams play this year and Cleveland St. Eds and this team matches up very well with ALL of them. I actually think CC is better than all of them - their lines are similar but CC has better skilled position players for the most part IMO.

 

(2) Your comment about saying "everyone plays 2nd teamers" during the game is laughable. Of course they do! We all know that! Kids get winded, injured, etc. and someone else will spell them in every game. That is not what you and a couple of other posters who were obviously not at the game implied. You implied that CC pulled it starters (or a lot of them) because they were up so much they could coast to the win. When HHS fans called you and the other guy out, you now resort to the garbage in your last post about how everyone plays 2nd teamers sometimes. Again, you KNOW the difference. Just admit it, you and others that were not at the game got caught stating something that was totally incorrect...your defense of the incorrect comment just makes you look silly.

 

This was a pleasure to read. The best part of this post is that you have seen these teams play and that is what your opinion is based on. Even if you had a negative opinion on the teams or games, your opinion would be very credible. I'll look forward to reading your posts and try to stay away from the posters that don't know, first hand, what they are talking about. BGP needs more posters like you. :thumb:

I will disagree on Powell and SK. He is not that valuable. SK has other players and playmakers. They beat Collins without him.
