I realize police learn "on the job" when there are these riots but it just seems like this is being handled poorly. When you see a sniper sitting on top of an armored vehicle with his rifle aimed directly at people who are showing no signs of being dangerous it just creates more anger and resentment towards the police.

These are also the departments that were set to investigate the shooting of Michael Brown before FBI involvement. How much should people trust them after watching how this has gone down?

I was watching a live stream of the protest a bit ago before it stopped working. It was very chilling seeing someone looking through a scope at people standing around. I understand the cop was just checking the area out but I honestly felt sad just from seeing it.

August 14, 201412 yr Two journalists arrested in Ferguson by what is essentially a military. I don't know how anyone who claims to care about the Constitution or a free republic isn't mortified by what's going on there. The dept. will be getting some correspondence very soon — if they haven't already — from some high-powered First Amendment attorneys (who are always kept on retainer by media outlets of all sizes). And those attorneys will have a field day with it once it goes to court.
August 14, 201412 yr There is so much sensationalism now, it obviously is way out of control. There is more misinformation than correct information. Regardless of what happened, it should never have gotten to this. There seems to be no attempt to deescalate what is happening other than doing things to escalate it on both sides. Until the parties involved attempt to get their bearings and find a way to filter through all the crap, I am concerned more innocent people are going to get hurt or killed. There really is no excuse for what either side is doing. It is probably beyond anything but a total military enforcement and that is a sad result when appropriate initial intervention should have been done. This has turned into racially driven agendas and there are no winners in that. It is hard for me to believe that this one situation started this. There had to be some deep rooted things going on and this was the fuse.
