I know that one thing that I have changed recently is doing too many lifts. I have seen the most results when I do 3-4 different exercises for 4 or 5 sets each. for instance my chest day includes Standing pec flys (resistance bands, 5x25), Incline Push ups:5x25, bench: 185, 4x25 last set is a drop set 40 10's on each side, Decline bench: 4x25. Core planks, yoga ball sit ups. I usually either follow it up with cardio or start with cardio, but I do 30 minutes of 1 minute light jogging, 1 minute sprint with high resistance on the elliptical, always changing heart rates. Thought this may be of some help.

96 minutes in the gym yesterday and then it was a 54 minute insanity workout at home.

Hope y'all all had a good workout.

Ended with 1717 calories.

That's gotta be some kind of record.

Would be one long bar.

I really can't wait until July when my schedule gets back to normal so I can start working out with what I've been doing over the past few months. I see a lot more running in my future as long as my knees will allow me too.

I've discovered the same thing. When I was bodybuilding, my workouts would often last 1.5-2 hours, and I'd do 6 or 7 different exercises of 3-5 sets each for each body part. But I'd often feel poor or have soreness the next day, or suffer through minor injuries. I've committed to 3-4 exercises per body part, 3-4 sets each, no more than 12-15 movements per body part. I'm now down to 30-35 minutes of lifting and 15-20 minutes of cardio 5-6 days per week. It seems to be working with less pain, which is important at my age.

I'm proud of what I've been able to accomplish in 1 month and 3 weeks.

20-80 prinicple 100% of the time. When you are in a time crunch, remember, 20% of the exercises produce 80% off the results. I watch people come to the gym and do machine after machine and I get confused. If you don't have a solid base, what kind of detail are you trying to bring out in your muscles??? Barbell compound lifts are key. Start light, perfect form, and see more results than you'll ever get slaving away on machines and elipticals.

As for me, I've completely gotten rid of a belt. I have run out of holes on the positive end. I don't know what I weigh, but that has to be a good sign. I've purposely avoided the scale b/c of how frustrated I would get each week.

I also skip the scales but I know I've lost a lot of fat...maybe not a great deal of weight but certainly fat. I'm down 2 belt holes and working on 3.

That is the beauty of it all. losing weight is a slow process when you are burning fat and adding lean muscle. Your weight fluctuate all the time. I use a scale once a week to see if i have met my two pound per week goal. So far I am down around 26 pounds since november.

No question, gotta remember you didn't get like that in 2 weeks so don't get discouraged when you aren't skinny after 2 weeks of working out.

Finally a day off of work and great weather! Went for a 4 mile run. It's been awhile but I still finished and I feel great. I will be sore, I know.

Here's hoping I can keep finding some "Me" time each day to work out!
