Fitness 2014 let's all have a great year

Who wants to take a guess how many calories a 220lb male burns while working as a beer vendor at the Cincinnati Reds?

3.5 hours of work

Constantly walking, specifically steps

Carrying a load between probably 40 - 60 lbs at times (obviously sometimes that down in the 20's too).

Any takers? haha! And not asking to brag, asking because I really have no idea.

In preparation for the inevitable Easter Sunday splurge---

Bring on the chocolate marshmallow eggs! :lol2:

The cardio break is over.

I did core competition (tapout XT) this morning.

46 minutes of fun.

You all are speaking a foreign language.

But seriously, congrats to all who are making the effort. As a near 60-year old who recently had a life-changing health-related experience, about all I'm good for is 5 or 6 light workouts a week, combination of elliptical/treadmill and nautilus. But that's a vast improvement over last year, when the only exercise I got was lifting the remote.

Keep up the good work!

Same to you, mcpapa.

Glad to hear you are on board with us!

Down 5lbs since April 1st but the heavy bag at LA Fitness is broken and at the rate they fix their equipment it might be June before Its fixed. I May just fix it myself , Its sad enough my buddy had to being the Heavy Bag in to the facility so We could use it at the Gym. Bellevue location by the way.

I haven't been posting, but here goes: 5-6 days each week in gym. 30 minutes of cardio on elliptical combined with 15 minutes super set of mostly upper body and 150 sit-ups each day. I am down 10 pounds since basketball season, but mostly getting the notice from those that saw me during season to now. Toning up well. Have been getting Mrs. Birdbrain into gym, 5 days this week. She's walking at least 2 miles and got her on a circuit set. She's enjoying the gym and since we have been going together it's a nice date each day. Watching what I eat and really laying off the carbs. Saturday is my cheat day, but not going overboard. Haven't had pizza in a couple weeks. Along with my supplement intake, I'm feeling great !

End of my first week back in the gym. 20 minutes of cardio, 40 minutes of strength training. 4 days on, then 1 day off, then a 30 minute kettlebell workout on day 6, then start over. Strength is still close to where I was last May when I fell off the wagon. After this mornings work pity, most of the initial soreness is gone. Keeping a food diary again, and cut out all soda and beer (sigh). Still will have a glass of wine with dinner. Looking to be back in fighting shape by mid June.

Ran 3.5 miles Friday and my legs are still sore. Going to head to the gym in a couple of hours to try and stretch out and get loose.

My 2.5 hour ride turned to 2. For some reason my chain kept dropping...going to have to get that looked at. Got stuck on a hill and had to walk it up...

Will be hitting the gym today after work and then home for a cardio workout. Not sure which one but it will be all kinds of fun.

I ended up doing Pure cardio from the insanity series 38:17 seconds.

I did 11 exercises in the gym, which took 44 minutes.

Not a bad day for the 50 year old fat guy.

Started week two with legs, and added deadlifts.....my most hated lift. It just wipes me out. Up to 4 minutes of jogging in my 20 minutes of cardio. Down 7 pounds and 1 inch in the waist.

I took yesterday off but was back at it today.

51 minutes in the gym lifting and then home for P90X Kempo X. 58 MINUTES AND CHANGE OF CRAZY FUN.
