Guru, if your only reason for Dave to move to Ryle is having to beat HHS to get into the playoffs, then that bubble is about to burst, as I pretty sure that CovCath moves to 5A in 2015 while HHS stays in 4A.

 

Don't count on HHS staying in 4A. Everything that I am hearing is that HHS WILL move up to 5A.

Really don't care one way or the other, as I am rather certain CovCath and HHS will play each other whether they are in the same division or not but explain to me why HHS moves to 5A with a 4A enrollment?

I was told no!

I would think this Ryle job would attract many candidates from KY and quite a few from Ohio and Indiana. I'm not that high on any local NKY coaches that might apply but then we do not know what the candidate pool is yet.

I can think of lots of reasons why Coach Wirth should take a look at Ryle but I tried to keep it simple to avoid having this thread veer off course.

Why on earth would Borchers leave Cooper? He teaches there, he's the AD, and he has a great group of players for the next few years. I don't see that happening.

I agree. I don't see Coach Borchers leaving Cooper. He has a nice situation and has done an excellent job as both an AD and coach.

I would never fault Dave Wirth for looking at a job like Ryle. Much more pay. Probably better retirement.

 

He has a young family. Has to look out for the family.

It would not be a total shocker for Wirth to move. There have been others in the past few years that have made the move from a parochial school to a public school, in large part due to financial reasons.

Would Borchers at Cooper be interested?

Borchers has put toomuch into Cooper's athletics I think to move on right now. As AD he has built a great athletic dept. with some of the best coaches around. He has a great Varsity Basketball coach in Sully, he has one of the best girls Basketball coaching staffs with the ND coaches that came over this year. He has a new Baseball coach etc. I think with what he's done with the athletic dept alone he doesn't want to step away just yet.

If they can clear out all the dads in the coaching staff, I'd love to see Siple get a shot at the Ryle job.
