It is irritating to see two weak schedule teams at the top of the list. Think about this. The worst team Trinity has played is twice as good as the best team Scott County has played. Even Simon Kenton has played a tougher schedule than Scott County. Here is my list:

I totally agree with this post. Just because they're undefeated does not mean they're the best. I think VOR nailed it with his list.

If you all are putting the super district in the top 4, I think male is the most complete team at this point even though they lost. When I say most complete, I mean least amount of holes.

SK has a solid #6 team in 6A. They are a good team but certainly not great. SK would be 0-9 vs. T's schedule this year IMHO.

Why would it be irritating to see the 2 undefeated teams on top of the rankings. Are people supposed to punish these teams for being undefeated. You want to talk schedule strength, well you'll soon see in the playoffs if your theories are correct. Until then, the OP poll is accurate according to how every other sports entity in the world would rank it. Only in KY High school are folks discussing teams that have lost 2,3,4 games as being ranked higher.

 

If a ranking is a snapshot of the ongoings year to date at that point, then the original post rankings are accurate.

 

Unless you folks feel that the rankings are merely a hypothesis of playoff results. You should be ranked by what you've done or not done. Point blank period.

You should be ranked by how good people think you are and strength of schedule plays into it, same as many college polls.

So Henderson just needed to play Webster Co instead of Covington Cath and I could have claimed the Western Colonels to be the best team in 6A. At least up until they had to play McCracken. Maybe Coach Lewis needs to drop those two teams from Evansville so we can also get Muhlenburgh and Union Co back on the schedule. If strength of schedule means nothing then I say we load it up with guaranteed wins so we can be claim to be #1 as well.

All these weeks and no one had a problem with Scott County at #2. Now you're supposed to drop them to #5 because the teams in the super-district played round robin? Is Scott County not the team that almost (and should've) knocked off Trinity last year?

 

If you're taking potshots at Simon Kenton, that's one thing, but I find it strange that people are coming out of the woodwork to condemn Scott County more all of a sudden.

I dont know of any rankings that allow 4 loss team be #1. Yes we can argue about the strength of the schedules. But those teams lost to those teams. In 6A you get pass if you lose to a team better than you and if you are in a lower class you get punished for losing to a team that is better than you. I am not sure how you can have it both ways in these polls.

Polls are still meaningless. Whether Trinity is #1 or Simon Kenton. Means. Nothing.

McCracken is being underrated across the board right now. You have a new school and a sophomore QB in Hughes who are both exploding. It will be very, very difficult at this point to beat them in Paducah. And they have home field until the championship game. On the other hand just as most people on here haven't seen McCracken I haven't seen Simon Kenton, Male or Scott Co. My only point is if you are holding the first two losses of the season that were the first games for a new program against them at this point you are doing it wrong. I have also been seeing local people ranking Mayfield ahead of McCracken. At this point I almost guarantee you Mayfield doesn't want that matchup right now.

I have also been seeing local people ranking Mayfield ahead of McCracken. At this point I almost guarantee you Mayfield doesn't want that matchup right now.
