This one must have been one heckuva comeback or I heard the info wrong earlier in this one. I had heard that PCC had Fairview down by a couple of td's early and weren't having a lot of trouble getting the lead.

PC had the game won. Had an 8 point lead and stopped Fairview on 4th Down in the redzone with around 2:30 to go after Fairview had struggled to stop them all night.

Central then went 3 and Out and nearly turned the ball over on a fumble. A short punt had Fairview set up in PC Territory before a 5 yard penalty move the ball back...Fairview took one play to tie it. Pike Central gets the ball back and promptly throws an INT.. Fairview scores their second touchdown within :45 or so of the First. PC still had almost 2 minutes to work with.. they pick up a couple quick First Downs then throw anther INT to seal it.

Very entertaining game, but a very ugly game. There were 5 total turnovers in the 1st Quarter and Pike Central threw no less than 4 or 5 INT's. Both teams gashed the other with big plays aided by awful tackling.

Pike Central is an average 3A team and IMHO will be the 3 Seed in 3A District 8. Injuries or not...if Fairview expected to contend with a team like Mayfield PC is the type of team they should beat with relative ease.

All in all just further solidifies that the Eastern 1A Semi-State is going to be the Wild West come November... lots of very even teams with solid offenses who have no ability to stop one another.
