I am still curious as to who will QB the JV game against BW.

Highlands JV has not played a game in two weeks either because of traveling. They are scheduled to play CovCath here in a few weeks I believe. The cancellation has been known for at least two weeks and the explanation given was because of the short week for CovCath and the injuries. A better question might be was there not someone that Highlands could pick up to play this week much like they did George Rogers Clark and Lexington Catholic the last 2 games?

Didn't Beechwood cancel on someone in the last year or so? I seem to remember some upset people.

I know JV games are important to some, but I think it is for development of players. Ifyou have the numbers, play the game. I cannot imagine CCH does not have the numbers.

Seems simple to me. Short week, injuries and CCH would get smashed by Highlands even if they were healthy. I'd cancel the game too if I was CCH.

This is what I don't understand. There is another entire thread about what CCH needs to do to get better. Not playing for 3 weeks doesn't help at all. We keep hearing waiting until next year but how are you going to develop your football team without playing? Regardless if it is HHS or not.

The Birds should of kept playing their GCL JV schedule.....:clap:

You may be right. I don't think it was last year. I believe it was 2011 and it was a QB issue. The starting QB was injured so the JV QB had to start varsity and there really was no one they could get ready that week at QB. I can't remember the specifics but I do think a JV game was cancelled.

In this issue, can we really compare Beechwood (1A) to CovCath (4A)? In looking at their rosters, there seems to be at least 30 more players on CovCath's roster than Beechwood's.

Not making excuses for Cov Cath, but this is a very tough week for them. Like it or not, injuries are a factor. Plus, game on Saturday versus the Birds then a game on Thursday versus Beechwood. That is a very short week of preparation and makes it difficult to play a JV game in the middle of that on Monday night. I am surprised they even had that game on the schedule with it being such a short week for prepping for the Beechwood game.

 

Then don't schedule the game in the first place. Doesn't sound like rocket science to me.

No matter what the reason, it is very disappointing that HHS will not get to play this week, especially against CovCath.

 

Last year at the freshman level, HHS lost its quarterback, middle linebacker, and running back for multiple games in the middle of the season. No games cancelled. I know freshman is not JV, but you just don't cancel a game.

So if you are correct the game has not been canceled. Postponed would be more accurate. And a bunch of over reacting by a bunch of misinformed Highlands fans (and Guru).
