Why did Covington Catholic cancel their JV game with Highlands?

Featured Replies

And don't hand me injuries as an EXCUSE!

CovCath is like any other school, next man up. Plus, having a few injuries is no excuse to take the game away from all the other JV players from CovCath and Highlands.

So I ask again, why did Covington Catholic cancel their JV game with Highlands?

And note to Highlands, the proper way to handle this is to NEVER play CovCath in Freshman Football or JV football again. Schedule someone else that week each year.

And this goes for all schools/teams, they shouldn't be allowed to cancel a JV game any easier than they could or would cancel a varsity football game.

Every CCH JV parent should be putting the heat on the Coach and the Principal, there is no excuse for this.

When was the game to be played? When was it cancelled?

Perhaps the CCH football program was suffering from a mild case of Bird Flu......

Monday, September 30th.

In general I agree with you on cancelling JV games. I think that is why Highlands years ago went to putting together a JV schedule that is independent of the varsity schedule; however, I think I would ask you (or anyone) if there is ever a situation where a prgoram would have valid reason to cancel a JV game?

When was the game cancelled?

Not making excuses for Cov Cath, but this is a very tough week for them. Like it or not, injuries are a factor. Plus, game on Saturday versus the Birds then a game on Thursday versus Beechwood. That is a very short week of preparation and makes it difficult to play a JV game in the middle of that on Monday night. I am surprised they even had that game on the schedule with it being such a short week for prepping for the Beechwood game.

Doesnt HHS often have frosh playing both?

Both what?.....Frosh & JV.

That's a negative!

It didn't happen when my son played, maybe since then.

They never did. Guessing they still don't.

Very rarely is ever at all

I seem to remember it being the case a few years ago. Just curious.
