Who has been QBing JV games for CCH the last two weeks? Have they cancelled those games as well?

 

How about you look at who CovCath played the last two weeks before you ask that question?

Agreed. Should be interesting if the JV play next week. Maybe they can go 4 weeks without any game time.

So if we break down the "whys:"

 

Game on Thursday: Some validity but I'd argue that 90% of the boys playing in the JV game would play less than 5 varsity plays IF ANY.

Cole might get hurt: He's 6'0 or 6'1 and 160 + pounds by my eyeball measurement. He's not 5'7 120.

Cole hasn't practiced with the JV: First, JV hardly ever gets any practice time. Secondly, the offense at the frosh level is similar to varsity. You skinny the playbook.

Injuries at the varsity level: The worst of the excuses for a program with the tradition and reputation of CCH.

 

In the end, it's Dave's program and he gets to make the calls. Just like when CCH wins and he gets praise he fully accepts the criticism that comes with decisions as well.

 

HHS wouldn't cancel in the same situation IMO.

No matter what the reason, it is very disappointing that HHS will not get to play this week, especially against CovCath.

 

Last year at the freshman level, HHS lost its quarterback, middle linebacker, and running back for multiple games in the middle of the season. No games cancelled. I know freshman is not JV, but you just don't cancel a game.

Not even sure why I'm wasting my breath arguing over maybe the dumbest topic on this forum ever- and that would saying something.

Why don't we talk about the positives and negatives of the Highlands scoreboard some more?

Highlands JV has not played a game in two weeks either because of traveling. They are scheduled to play CovCath here in a few weeks I believe. The cancellation has been known for at least two weeks and the explanation given was because of the short week for CovCath and the injuries. A better question might be was there not someone that Highlands could pick up to play this week much like they did George Rogers Clark and Lexington Catholic the last 2 games?

Maybe not 10 months ago, but probably knew 3 months ago when the TV people asked to televise the game and changed the date.

The fact that it's been known does make it more palatable. At least HHS had the chance to go look for another game. However, even at the JV level it's still not the same as playing their arch rival.
