JokersWild24
I hate excuses, but the mind can only wonder how different the game would've been if we would've kept running the ball. It's over now though so.... 2-1 and on to fairdale. Congrats to Bg on this feat. If the game plan were to pound Walker and company, I think it would have been a different game. Maybe not a different outcome, but a different game. With that said, hindsight is always 20/20. Walker couldn't go out and tackle Fant, Pillow, or Blue on defense or jam and press them off the line in bump coverage and still stay with them on deep routes down the seams or outside (even Wierson, who wasn't on the same page with his QB, had speed and ability that had to be respected). Walker also couldn't contain Hayes in the pocket and stop him from moving the chains on crucial downs when he looked to be bottled up for a loss either. But like PP92 more or less said in an earlier post, if there are many better running backs in the state than him right now, they are a talent, because it still didn't stop him from using the "Madden truck stick" or getting his yardage when he was handed the ball though. With Bowling Green's talent, depth, and big play ability in the passing game, we can't really say that they would have lost the game, because they were reeling off big play after big play. One way to potentially neutralize that definitely would have been keeping them off the field and out of rhythm by moving the chains with sustained drives and just riding Walker and company as far as they could though. Hopefully that game was a great learning experience and the coaching staff takes this into consideration moving forward.
kypride
Run the ball play action and play sound defense instead of blitzing every play. Much better game plan for X. Can't do it though, because that's what Glaser did, and Wolford promised he was better than Glaser.
