I love the smell of fresh cut grass when I get done mowing it; just sitting around

on the porch admiring my work having a beer and smelling the grass.

 

I love taking a drive out in the country on a nice evening, windows down music on

with no destination at all.

Every morning I wake up and shower then read the paper while I have the TV on. I finish off that little exercise by doing the crossword puzzle.

 

On occasion, when I'm feeling supremely relaxed, I'll turn the TV off and do the crossword while listening to some music and sipping a cup of coffee. I love it.

 

The other one I love is sitting outside with one or two friends and having a drink. Whether at a bar or on my front porch, I love having a beer or a glass of bourbon with a couple friends outdoors.

Some good ones for sure. I also love sitting in the yard while drinking a beer right after mowing the lawn.

One of life's simple, sensory pleasures is to be REALLY cold, and then to come inside to warm up.

I love cruising Kentucky's backroads, looking for interesting things to photograph.

I too love working in my garden and flowers. Love sitting on the front porch, with my water fountain going watching my son chip golf balls. Sitting on the patio watching the humming birds at the feeder.

 

In the winter, watching basketball.

Hearing the first words out of my little girls mouth every morning. At almost 3 years old she wakes up with some elaborate plan for the day right off the bat like she has been dreaming of it all night. Always puts a smile on my face and starts the day off right...

When the weather is nice, and the twins are outside playing. When I turn onto our street, when they see me, they always sprint toward the car, I stop, and let them in, and they ride back to the house with me. It's always my favorite part of the day.

When one of my kids says something funny or witty. It shows that they can assess the situation and make light of it. It shows that they are listening and paying attention to others. It shows their confidence that they are not afraid to put themselves out there. Makes me proud.

I like sitting out on my front porch and watching the sunset... I often do when I need to be by myself or to clear my head after a long day...

 

On nice nights, I too, enjoy a drive with no particular destination....

 

A couple times a year when the weather is right and I don't have anything else going on I go and enjoy a Reds game by myself... Find a seat by myself and just relax and take in the game. A big contrast from when I go with a group as for some reason I get into the game more.

 

And once in a great while when none of that works, I go sit at a Starbucks, turn off my phone or leave it in the car, and read a good book....

 

Generally reserve these things for when I need to 'get away' for awhile...

Grilling a steak, burger etc, while drinking a cold one, listening to the Reds game on the radio. Love it, means spring/summer is here to me.

 

Another is laying on a sleeping bag with one of my kids on warm and clear summer's night looking up at the stars. Talking with them about whatever... looking for shooting stars!

Getting a good hearty and genuine laugh out of my wife when I crack a joke.

Forgetting that it is payday. Hasn't happened much but I love when it does happen.
