Simple Pleasures

The feeling of a nice hot shower after mowing the grass.

Being greeted by my puppy when I get home from work every day. You'd think I'd been gone a month.

That is true. I love being greeted and loved by my dogs.

I get great pleasure on Saturday mornings after I do a long workout that starts early. Say I get up and bike 40 miles then run 10 miles and it is 10:00 a.m. when I am finished, it is a great feeling. I love it best during the fall because by the time I grab a bite to eat, take a shower, and having nothing left to do the rest of the weekend except watch football, I get great enjoyment from that.

I just want to say with no malice in my heart whatsoever, you make me sick.

Ha. More so just having everything completed early on in the morning with nothing left to worry about for the day. Any time I get up early and complete a major task for the day before most people are awake, I love that feeling.

Ditto. :lol2:

After Bugatti's post, I'll add one....Waking up early enough to catch McDonald's breakfast. :D

I like to be going before they close the late night menu.

Fishin' with Pa or listening to one of his many stories. Yep, definitely what I would call simple pleasures.

When the weather is nice, and the twins are outside playing. When I turn onto our street, when they see me, they always sprint toward the car, I stop, and let them in, and they ride back to the house with me. It's always my favorite part of the day.

Love it.

When one of my kids says something funny or witty. It shows that they can assess the situation and make light of it. It shows that they are listening and paying attention to others. It shows their confidence that they are not afraid to put themselves out there. Makes me proud.

My youngest child is the most astute when it comes to observing actions and words of others (not sure where he gets that) and it always makes me smile a bit.

Sitting in my sunroom or on my porch with a cold one listening to a summer thunderstorm....Doesn't get much better.

Grew up in a small ranch house that had a carport. I used to love when a big storm would come through and I could sit on the carport while it was pouring.

Sitting under the kitchen sink with a nice glass of cold milk.

What am I missing here? You're sitting under the sink and drinking a milk?
