April 19, 201313 yr Marc Maggard posted what he called a "free audio blog" on his site concerning the recruitment of Andrew Wiggins. It's about 25 minutes long, but the main takeaway points are: * No one has sources because Andrew Wiggins has not decided, so don't believe anything you come across where someone says they have a source. * Says the upcoming visits from the three coaches are "standard operating procedure" in recruiting, therefore it's a mistake to try & draw conclusions from them. Cal isn't coming next week b/c he's out of visits with Wiggins. * As has been repeatedly stated, Wiggins is a different kid & could likely just wake up one morning & make his decision. Maggard says that's how the decision was made for him to go to Huntington Prep. Maggard spoke to Wiggins' quiet ways by saying when coaches have made their visits Wiggins "might say 20 words." * He doesn't like telling people no, which was also stated by Rob Fulford in his KSR interview yesterday. * Of all the visits Wiggins has had, Kansas was probably the best. * Mrs. Wiggins seemed to take to Roy Williams more than any of the other coaches--i.e. laid back, low-key. * Mr. Wiggins most definitely sees the business side of this, having played in the NBA himself. Maggard says business will have a lot to do with this decision & he feels like that bodes well for UK & UNC in particular. * Stated the obvious ties with Florida State & that the Wiggins family has a good relationship with Leonard Hamilton. * Maggard emphasized that he doesn't know & no one knows, but if he had to guess, he says it's Kentucky or North Carolina. He considers Florida State to be bringing up the rear among the four teams involved. Said that if the decision was FSU, he thinks it would have happened by now. Says he believes Kansas is third. * No way to know a timetable as far as when the decision will be made. The May 15th deadline doesn't apply because Wiggins does not have to sign a Letter of Intent. But he did say he felt like most people around Wiggins are hoping & encouraging a decision to be made by then.

April 20, 201313 yr Wiggins was going to announce today but hated to take the focus off of the Manhunt in Boston So he was going to announce before Williams, Self and Hamilton made their visits? Where did you come up with that?
April 20, 201313 yr So he was going to announce before Williams, Self and Hamilton made their visits? Where did you come up with that? Guessing the humor was lost on you...
April 20, 201313 yr Sometimes it sounds like he's a little kid stuck in a superstars body. Yeah, a little hard to blame him. Lots of pressure on a player of this magnitude.
April 21, 201313 yr Sometimes it sounds like he's a little kid stuck in a superstars body. Sometimes we forget that these guys don't have much life experience. Not really a little kid but certainly inexperienced.

April 21, 201313 yr He doesn't wanna hurt FSU's feelings by saying no. He's an adult, has to learn to make adult decisions. I wouldn't call him adult but he does need to learn to say no. Especially after next year when he is making millions.
April 21, 201313 yr Why would he go to UK and be one of 6 McDs All Americans? He ought to go to UNC. Because he should want to win.
