April 21, 201313 yr Because he should want to win.oh, he could win at UNC with what they should have coming back/in, plus he will be able to get more playing time next year at UNC. UK sure didn't do a whole lot of winning last year, despite having the top recruiting class come in...

UK sure didn't do a whole lot of winning last year, despite having the top recruiting class come in... He's the best prospect in the country. Playing time will not be his problem at any school in the country...
April 21, 201313 yr So, you think he'll get the same number of minutes at UK he will at UNC...? Will the NCAA grant UK permission to play with more than 5 on the court at one time?
April 21, 201313 yr He's the best prospect in the country. Playing time will not be his problem at any school in the country... So, you think he'll get the same number of minutes at UK he will at UNC...? Even if he wouldn't, who cares? He could develop his game better playing against better talent everyday, he could hide some flaws by not being "the guy" and go #1 in the draft regardless, and he could win big. He's only in college for a year, if he doesn't like the spotlight as noted, I'm sure he could care less if he plays 3 minutes less per game at UK.

He will get as many minutes as he can handle. Why would Cal sit the best player in the country more than typical rest? Your logic here is beyond flawed...
April 21, 201313 yr What if he struggles early... Will Cal keep him in just because he is Wiggins, and let other guys stay on the bench? Gametime, you seem to think you know a lot about this kid... How many minutes have you watched him play college basketball??? Can you guarantee he won't struggle adjusting to the college game? At UK they will have high school All Americans ready to be plugged in... At UNC they don't have six other McD's frosh clawing for PT.

He dominated competition over the summer and was outstanding the last two times he was at the Hoops Summit. I'll wear a wig if he struggles. That doesn't include the FT line. I can guarantee there will be times where he can make it from 28ft, just not from 15. It's remarkable.

I've watched him play against the best of the best out of these all Americans you seem to think he will sit behind. He's the best player in the class and it isn't even close. If he struggles some, he plays through it. That's basketball. You put the best talent on the roster on the floor. Wiggins would be the best player on UK the same as he would at any school in the country. That means he plays. A lot. Pretty simple really...
April 21, 201313 yr Here is a question... Let's say he comes to UK (and I hope he does). Do the 7 McDs guys coming to UK anticipate being one and dones? If most/all do, then it seems to me some of these kids have made a mistake coming to UK. They can only put 5 on the court at a time and it seems Wiggins is a lock to play huge, huge minutes regardless of whether he struggles or not. Did some of these other kids miscalculate when choosing UK, or are some anticipating staying for more than one year?

He'll probably play more than he would want. If anything Cal plays a small rotation. If Wiggins comes it would be people like Poythress, Lee, and Wiltjer getting the minutes crunch, specifically Poythress. You don't sit someone like Wiggins even if they struggle, when he figures it out it would be scary.
April 21, 201313 yr Ultimately I don't know how you pick against UK. Playing time is insignificant. Self's guys improve but do they have enough returning talent? FSU would be a joke of a pick. Roy Williams does nothing but lower the draft stock of his players. Who is his second best UNC pro after Ty Lawson? Scary.

The honest question that ought to be asked: Where can you go, where you play diminished minutes on National Title Contender - and still get drafted after only one year? :idunno:
April 21, 201313 yr Well, has Roy ever landed a player of Wiggins' caliber at UNC? What was Marvin Williams' rank? Harrison Barnes was in the top 2 or 3 if memory serves.
April 21, 201313 yr I do not think he's the best player in the country, he might be the best athlete.. Regardless, wherever he goes he will average 32-35 mins a game.
