The Dragons beat the Purples for the third time this year and eliminate them from the district. Warren Central will play Greenwood Saturday night for the district crown.

My heart was doing just fine when Central was up 54-42 about 2 minutes into the 4th. Then they missed the front end of a 1 and 1. Theeeen another. Suddenly it was 4 points and my chest was seizing up. BG got it all the way down to 2 and had a shot to tie down 3 with around 20 seconds left. WC survived after controlling most of the game, but hey, a W is a W. I'm just thrilled I get to film in Diddle again!

It's been said basically since we were saddled with the draw - it really stinks this game happened in the district tournament. Russell County is IMO the only team that can even remotely claim to be near these two atop the region. Bowling Green played like a team that had been to five straight region championships. They could've packed it in down 12, but they put the fear of God into every Dragon supporter who remembered the comeback in the first game. And the Purples return almost the entire team next year, so I expect we'll be back to what we're used to.
