DC Comics face ban by gays.

A writer for the new Superman project has said he opposed gay marriage and now the gays have protested.

 

A few questions.

 

Are we not allowed to oppose things we don't like or agree with?

 

If he is fired, is that discrimination based on his belief of opposing gay marriage?

I think you're allowed to oppose things you don't agree with just like people are allowed to protest against the actions/statements/beliefs of others who don't agree with them. Both sides, as far as I'm concerned, are well within their right of free speech.

If Card and/or DC Comics weren't selling to gays, I'd agree. There is nothing wrong with believing marriage is between a man and a woman, it's their religious conviction. I have that belief myself but have no problem with civil unions for gays and believe they should be afforded the same rights as married couples.

It won't solve anything or change anyone's opinion, so to me it's pointless. If anything, it'll make those that view it as a religious institution dig their heels in more.

I'd say likely, but hey, they're free to boycott if they wish. I support that right. I just think there are better ways to reach someone.
