I stopped by today after reading this. Had no idea that entire strip of businesses were there.

Gas Lite Cafe in Pleasant Ridge is a cool little burger place. Old school neighborhood bar with a strong burger.

 

Can't recommend this place enough. Never had a bad meal there. The burgers are simply awesome, up there with Terry's Turf Club, and way better than Zip's (and much more reasonable.) Plus they have great soup.

Guthrie's is pretty tasty and I like the man-sized fries. The Cane's in Lex is way better than the Cane's in Florence or Cincy in my opinion. Cane's is also cheaper.

It's a half block down (south) from Convention center. Rats I forgot to DVR it. Jimmy G is the bomb, his steaks are better than Rubys imo.

Ate at Palomino's last night for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Great window seat and the food was wonderful. Heard the Friday night crowds are great. Looks like a great bar area with a cool view of the fountain.

@mcpapa So the daughter and I went to El Caminante tonight after dropping the boys off at a birthday party. Came away impressed. She had a burrito the size of a Buick and I had the Pollo Bandido. Queso Dip with our chips and drinks...got out of there for under $30.

 

I think it's better than Mi Camino. More flavor to most everything. (except Fajitas... yowza those were plain.)

Sorry, but there is no such thing as "pretty decent Mexican".

My personal opinion of course. If it were up to me Mexican restaurants would be waiting to make their first sale. To each his own!

 

Too much good American and Italian out there!
