There is a place at Findley market which is very good. Velvet smoke, I think.

 

Famous Dave's in Florence is very good, too. It is off of Houston Road, near the intersection of Houston & Turfway. It's a franchise, but very good.

Ok, I have a question. Why can a family go for breakfast food in NKY (or the Cincy area) AFTER 11am on a Sunday that is not Frisch's, iHop, Bob Evans, or First Watch? Brunch is OK as long as I can find breakfast food too. 11am seems to the time when most places change from a breakfast menu to a lunch menu. My family is usually getting out of church at that time and I like late breakfast on a Sunday.

 

I gotta say I'm partial to the diners on Monmouth. When the missus is out of town, I head on down. Nothing like breakfast at a greasy spoon, and cheap!

Love me some Eli's. Going to have to try Velvet Smoke. If you are heading to Northern Cincinnati, Lance Mcallister was raving about Pit to Plate in Mt Healthy. I am going to give them a try.

Pit to Plate is must have for me every year at the Taste. Good stuff. Never been to the actual place though, as there seems to be no easy way to get to Mt. Healthy/Northgate unless you already live there.

BIG fan of Pit To Plate - I freaking LOVE that place. When I was working in Lockland, OH it was about a 20 minute drive. I used to go pick up carry out and eat it back at my office every month or so. GREAT barbecue.

Both are outstanding. Pit to Plate is rough but in a homey / lovable kind of way. Walt's is rough in a something could go down at any minute kind of way. Kind of the like the difference between Alabama Fish House and the Louisiana Fish Bar on Queen City.

I almost wish I never would have gone to Terry's. I've wanted another burger from there for 2 full days now.

Anyone tried pizza at Venice On Vine yet?

 

My only experience there so far has been just to grab a quick slice or two a couple of times to munch on while walking down the street. It wasn't bad, but I don't recall having an OMG experience about it. As far as pepperoni pizza goes it was pretty much par for the course. I did dig that slices weren't more than $2. Things sometimes do taste better to me when I know that I haven't been overcharged.
