Was back at The Eagle yesterday afternoon for lunch, and everything was outstanding as usual. They've added a new side, White Cheddar Jalapeno Cheese Grits, that I just had to try. Delicious IMO. Not Eli's Jalapeno Cheese Grits quality, but not far behind.

I like BJ's Brew House. The California Chicken Club is outstanding. It's a grilled chicken breast with avocado and several other things. Very good.

Been there a couple of times. Pizza the one time, the Brewhouse Double Deluxe burger the other. Both were solid.

Have lived in Covington my entire life.

 

Have heard about Herb & Thelma's inexpensive, but awesome cheeseburgers for about as long that's cooked on a 1940's seasoned grill, and that going there is like taking a step back in time. Have never stepped foot in the place ever, but keep telling myself "Gotta try it out sometime"

 

Yesterday, Sunday afternoon I'm passing the place and think "OK... no time like the present". I park my car and walk up to the door. "Closed on Sundays".

 

Well... I guess that I'll be waiting a while longer. :idunno:

MTGL, I didn't even know about it until earlier in the week. It's on the East end of 2nd street beside Ben's Car Wash. 212 East Second Street.

 

It's a BBQ/craft store so atmosphere is pretty lacking. There's only about 8-10 tables. All were full when I arrived and there was a line, so I chose the to go route. I got a half pound of pulled pork with the sauce on the side.

 

The meat had a good flavor, but I would've preferred a bit more smokiness. Very juicy and tender.

 

The best move I made all day was to get the sauce on the side. It was very overpowering with something ( couldn't out my finger on what). I'll return and try some of the sides. It's good BBQ for the area, but not great BBQ.

Ate at Rock Bottom Brewery yesterday. Split street tacos for an app. I had southwestern chicken bbq pizza. Outstanding. Also Had their IPA. Pretty good.

Ate the fried eggplant sliders at A Tavola again this weekend. Outstanding! Pizza? Uh, not so much. Generic.

 

The waffles at Taste of Belgium are very tasty.
