River Grill Before The Big Chill

Went to The Eagle in OTR late afternoon. Good, not great. Had the chips with kale/artichoke dip and thought it was fairly bland.

Had Mac & Cheese, it was decent. Brought half of it home as a left over and couldn't give it away to the younger kids.

Chicken sandwich was solid. Might go back, might not.

Finally made it to Knotty Pine last night. Just outstanding. Gumbo was great. Had a lobster bisque that was top notch. Entrees were solid. Abita on draft was good.

Used my Groupon Free $30 voucher for 915 last night. They have upgraded their drink menu offering martini's now and they have Great Lakes on tap. Wife loved the Scooby Snack Martini....had 3 of them. I had a few beers and the International Burger. It was a little dry but not bad. The owners have obviously been tuning in to Bar Rescue as the new high priced drink menu and weekly entertainment (trivia night) has helped business I m sure. Even with the $30 voucher I still spent $30 after the drinks and dinner for 3.

Ate at Trio's in Kenwood Friday night. Fantastic meal. Had not been there in a long time.

Thanks to my wife's facebook account we found a tiny place in Burlington, "Battaglia's Deli". It's a small place that offers sandwiches, soups and salads. I had the Cubana, it was huge, priced well at $6.75 and very good.

Right past the intersection of 18/Jefferson. I believe they are only open 11 to 4. Nice folks plus a freebie after buying five.

Hit up a new place in Florence last night. Sea, Sushi and Grill.

It's in the old Dunkin Donuts. Place has been totally empty the few times I've driven by (been open a couple weeks). Anyhow, being adventurous and always wanting to help out a new place, we gave it a try. First off, its hard to believe the transformation inside. We were the only ones there and the help was very nice (a couple of the waitresses were hard to understand). They have quite an extensive menu and were told of specials not on the menu but were available. Had a salad and 4 different types of sushi rolls between us. All were very good and reasonable prices. We will go back and hope they make it.
