Finally made it to Packhouse in Newport and had a really good meal. Had the daily special which was a cream cheese and jalapeno meatball and the jalapeno macaroni. Will definitely go back to try some of the other menu items. Seemed a little pricey with a few beers on the tab but a different type of dining experience.

Not Cincy, but I went to Scioto Ribber in Portsmouth on Saturday. Place is kind of like a dive bar, but the steak was excellent only get to options on steak small 16oz. or large 32 oz. I would highly recommend this place.

Anybody have a steak at Blinker's in Covington. I have heard a couple people (I don't trust) say they have an excellent steak and they have a board out front being voted best steak for some year. Thinking about trying it out.

I live in ptown , Ribber steak is pretty dang awesome . Sat night wait can be rather off putting , an hour to set , 45 or so eat . service is rough in there because its so crowded . If you go during the week its normally not busy at all.

Go to Keystone across the street for the Mac-n-Cheese and Blinkers always seems to have a nice crowd.

I've had lunch at Blinker's several times, but never had a steak. I'd call the food quality average, service is better than that, value is okay. If I want a good steak, sign or no sign, I'm probably going elsewhere.

The one thing I'll say is every soup I've had there has been terrific. I'm a soup guy 12 months a year, so that is a nice plus for me.

We were warned of how crowded it can get, so we got there around 3 and it wasnt bad at all. As we were leaving though there was already a waiting list. Next time I'm in Portsmouth though I'll for sure be back.

Guy Fieri was in Cincinnati filming Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives yesterday at Taste of Belgium, The Senate, and Bakersfield. Surprised he didn't hit up The Eagle too.

 

My wife and I ended up at Taste of Belgium. Had been there before to have waffles. Tried their burger and it was really good. Fries are outstanding. Not cheap if you have beer. My burger, my wife's chicken salad, two beers each - $73 with tip.

 

Beer was really good. Tripel Karmeleit and a new one for me called Kwak.

The OTR episode of DDD aired Friday night. Pretty cool.

 

Finally got around to getting to Strong's Pizzeria in Newport. Fantastic.

Went to Strong's Pizza also (last night). Thought it was good but not great. Had a pizza with peppadews on it that I really liked. The other ones were ok but nothing special. Service was great.

They said they were opening another location in Hebron sometime soon.

Plenty of real estate for rent in Hebron. Maybe where Beef's was located.
